I have a pair of HK mids and a pair of HK tweeters available for sale if anyone is interested. These are from the front doors of an E36 with Tan/Beige interior. I bought door panels from robertsmau on this forum, and didn't end up needing them, so I sold them to someone else without the speakers.

Mids are in excellent condition, with flanges and mounting rings all 100% intact. One tweeter has a section of the flange/ring (the visible part) broken off and missing, but the other is in excellent condition.

Mids: $50 for the pair plus $4.55 Priority mail shipping in the U.S. ($7.00 to Canada)
Tweets: $30 for the pair plus $4.55 Priority mail shipping in the U.S. ($7.00 to Canada)

If you buy both mids and tweets the shipping is only $4.55 total (or $7.00 for Canada).

Sorry for the pictures not being the greatest, but I had to snap them quick before my 1 year old son could get his grubby little mitts on them. lol

If you are interested, or have any questions feel free to email or pm me.

Prices are OBO as well, so don't be afraid to make offers. Also I might be selling my OEM tweeters out of my door panels (they're the Nokia pieces) with good grille/brackets, other than one has a crack but could easily be glued. Will post those separately at some point. Someone already replaced the mids with MBQuarts and GLUED them into the door panel so I doubt I'll put them up for sale unless someone wants a set that has the grilles glued onto the mounting ring. lol

Thanks.

Kevin

m52 E30: I'd rather not separate pairs, but if they don't get much interest in them I'll consider it. I'd rather wait a bit on making concessions with the price, since the post is new and I'd like to give it some time to gain momentum with any interested parties. But I'll think on it and we can probably discuss it if DJ OutOfSight doesn't take them, or nobody else shows too much interest in them.

DJ OutOfSight: I think if you can remove the speakers without destroying the rings (yours), and then remove the speakers from my rings without destroying the speakers, you'd be fine. I know the parts just appear to snap into the rings/grille assembly, but have heard it is fairly difficult to remove them without doing damage to the rings. I haven't tried it personally though.

The one tweeter just has some electrical tape over the connectors at the ends but otherwise I think they are intact. Although I'm not sure how the HK system is wired, and whether they normally have a "plug" or just the small spade connectors like what are on the ends of these. I got the speakers with a set of door panels from someone else on the forum, so I'm not sure if they would have ever been changed/spliced in any way, but I don't think so. (Speaking of Dove Grey, don't the last couple pics almost look like they are from a dove grey interior? The flash does strange things at different angles. They are definitely for the tan/beige interior.).

Mids will swap easy. Tweeters will not. There's a blob of glue that has to be removed to get them out... and a little tiny wire runs through the blob, and it will get torn if you try to remove them. Don't ask me how I know.

SPElectronics, can you post a pic of the back side of the tweeters?

Willing to sell the one dove gray tweeter without the broken ring? Paypal ready.

just4kinks: I'll snap a couple pics of the backs in just a little bit and post them as well as PM you a link.

328iJunkie: they are not dove grey, these are from a tan/beige interior. I just commented that they almost LOOK dove grey in the last couple pics because of the flash and angle of the pics. Sorry.

SPElectronics, can you post a pic of the back side of the tweeters?

These actually don't look like the wires are glued anywhere, so that shouldn't be a problem, but there does appear to be glue in at least two spots along the sides, where there is a little cutout/plastic clip area, as seen in the SIDE shots of the tweeters. I think with a little effort they could be disassembled without destroying the speakers. If there is glue, I recommend using a little heat from a heat gun or hair dryer (hair dryer may not be quite warm enough fast enough), or a hot air rework station (soldering station with hot air blower nozzles). NO OPEN FLAME though! lol

Those look different than my HK's. I was thinking they might be an aftermarket replacement, but they look like too good of a fit. Maybe BMW changed the design.

I'm not sure, but they might be a little different. I'm sure they used several different designs over the years, as they changed speaker design. Looking closely at them, you can see that it's a complete tweeter with its own grille, stuffed into the grille that fits into the panels for the bmw's, and they are set slightly off to one side and/or angled or something, like they were trying to direct them more towards the passengers.

For the other parties that expressed interest, I am just waiting to hear back from DJ OutOfSight since he was the first to respond saying he wanted them. I'm going to give him a little time to respond, and if I don't hear anything I'll move on to the next person in line, and so on. Thanks.

ok guys. i am neverous about braking them. i dont want to crack my speaker grills. as bad as i need them, and i need them bad i cant go threw with it.

I must wait for somebody selling HK in gray then i would buy those. but other than that the seller has amazing contact and gave me dibs. i respect that and it shows he is a good seller.

I am going to pass on this, Good luck with the sale.

What model year did these come out of? They should have OEM bmw plugs on them.

*edit*

And you can easily remove the tweeter/midrange from the speaker cup. It is just lightly glued in there. Use a small pick and can easily be removed. Then just use a little hot glue and you are all set!

Are you sure you don't want to take a shot? Especially after what was just said about it being pretty easy?

Just let me know for sure. If not I'll go ahead and let the next interested party know that they are available, but I figured I'd still give you a shot since you were the first that asked about them.

It looks like the mids are going to be sold to the second person that was interested, as of tomorrow. Tweeters are still available.

Thanks.

I truly respect the fact of dibs. but with my luck i will fuck it up and crack a grill or something. i may just get them from the dealer or try and find a used set in my color. Good Luck With The sale.

But you know what. if you cant sell them by a week or so them PM me and ill buy them. :)

No problem. If the next deal falls through, I'll let you know.

Hopefully you'll be able to find a set in the right color. My OEM mids were replaced in my grey interior too, before I got the car, so I was really trying to find a set that matched properly, but wasn't having any luck. The one set I found on eBay I ended up losing because someone SNIPED the bid. Damn snipers!

That is why I have decided I'm just going to end up doing a custom install, and build door boxes (very small amount of space to work with because of the glovebox on the pass side though), and put a 4 and tweeter in each door, and build kickpanels with 6's in them probably. Unfortunately it's going to require cutting and modifying my doorpanels to do it the way I want it, so I'll probably end up buying yet ANOTHER set of doorpanels (after just selling my others) so I have a backup, or can put the car back to stock to resell. LOL

If I don't get a buyer for the tweeters in the next week, I'll consider selling you just one of the tweeters if you still need it at that time. I'll try to update you soon.

m52 E30, if you still need just one tweeter, let me know and I might be able to work with you on that.

Mids sale is still pending. If it falls through for some reason they will be available again.

Thanks for looking.
