This is going to sound strange but i am not sure if my battery is dead. The bimmer will not turn over. i will do about one revolution of something then just quit. i was trying to see if it was the battery so i turned the headlights on high beam and the fog lights and the cabin speakers made a quick "boom" noise and the cd player died...not permently just till i shut down and attempt to start it again.

is this the battery or something more serious?

ps i have a black and decker battery charger thing that plugs into my glove compartment....will that work on my 1992 325i? and if so do i switch it to 1A or 2A?

thanks alot!
cheers!

It is your battery. I have no idea what the health of your battery is so I would suggest pulling it and getting it charged then tested at someplace like AutoZone. It just might be time to get a new one.
Trying to charge a bad battery will result in no charge. At 1 or 2Amps it will take a long time to charge it.

trickle chargers only really keep a battery from dying if being stored for a an extended period of time. typically a battery will lose about .5-1.5 volts per month when being stored, so at best, the trick charger would keep your battery from dying more.

If you're still unsure, jump it. if it turns right over then it's your battery.
