Is there a how to do things on here? If not can some one tell me how hard it is to install window lift motors on E36 coupes? Or should I just take it to a shop that knows what they are doing?

Well what is the window doing and we could probably tell u what it is. If Because you cant be so sure that it is actually the motor, it could be one of the window regulator bushings, theyre about 9 dollars and a pretty easy install, the dealers will rip u off with their prices.

Just for your information, it's very likely that you will also need a new regulator if you need a new motor. Usually the motor goes bad because the regulator is out of shape, at least that's what I was told.

iv got a problem with my windo to, it dosent move(firstly occured when the window was all the way down!gutid) eniwe, you get the clicking sound but the window dont move, but the thing that drops the window a bit for coupe's, that works, managed to get the window up using that. cheers

I just replaced my window regulator the other day, the motor was still good. I have a saloon, so I know its different, but I was able to do all the work on it myself with just a little help from a friend to put the regulator back in rails of the window. in order to put on a new motor you will have to remove the regulator (at least on the 4 doors). To do that you will need a 15/64 drill bit and 4 screws that are 6mm x 10mm to put the regulator back on.

Now yall talking about regulators. I bought the driver side motor . The rails and every thing is out of the doors. I bought it like that. The guy gave me the rails with the old motors and everything. He told me that it was just the motors. So I'll try the driver door first. Then if I need the regulator I'll just know what to do from there.

Yours are the regulator bushings im about 90 percent sure, take your door panel off and replace the two white plastic pieces on the sliders, you can get them at basically any bmw dealer for about 9 dollars, they sell them on ebay also

By twisting what do u mean like it pops off the track?, its probably one of the arms that connects to the regulator bushings.
