First question is....why? Are you doing a wheel tire package at the same time? Planning to take the car to the track/race it? Purely looking for a cosmetic change? Your needs will dictate your solution.

Just a cosmetic change.

What are your roads like in Kentucky? You do realize that lowering it will impact your ride quality..correct?

Not discouraging you, just preparing you. Been there, done that.

There not that bad in most places. So its going to make the ride rough?

Depends on how much you lower it. The lower you drop it, the less your springs/shocks get to do their work, which is to give a smooth and controlled ride.

Also depends on what size tires/wheels you have. If you have a taller tire, with all season tread, then you may not feel a MAJOR difference in ride quality if you lower it 1.5 inches or less..because the tall sidewall made of rubber..absorbs more of the road impacts.

But if you already have 18 inch rims with 30 series tires, and you plan to drop it 2 inches front and back?

Yeah..your gonna have a rough ride.

Personally? I would go with a set of rims first. I believe you currently have 15's on there. www.tirerack.com (http://www.tirerack.com) and www.discounttiredirect.com (http://www.discounttiredirect.com) have a nice selection of 16's that will fit fine, give you a slightly more aggressive look, slightly better handling, and almost the same ride quality. After that, if you wish, you can then drop her with some Eibach Pro Kit springs.

Just my thoughts.

Yes I think I need to do rims first also.

Just as a bit of info, I think that if you want to do the 330 brake mod, you need to go to 17" rims.

Your car is dropped right?I think I want it to be about like yours.

I dropped mine with a Dinan suspension and put 18's on. It looks great. If I could figure out why my pics don't post, I would show you.

I used the BAVAuto springs with Bilstein Sports, but if I had to do it over again I'd go with the Bilstein PSS9 (? - Something like that) Coilover system. You can dial it right in where you want it.

Yeah, i'm not sure how I feel about springs without posted rates.

Yeah, i'm not sure how I feel about springs without posted rates.

I have seen them installed, they drop the car a nice amount. I also happen to like the idea that they are the same spring rate as the stock OEM sports springs from my understanding. I know installing Billy shocks will make the car ride hard to being with not sure if I want to install a higher rate spring on top of it.

I installed Billy HD shocks/stuts on my 540 with sports package springs the car handles great and the ride is very firm but will not jar to death either. I know the E36 will ride harder then my 5 currently is that's the only thing I am unsure about. My question is do I want to stay at OEM what i know it feels like or lower the car a little and risk getting a jarring ride.

I am also a little worried about scraping the cars underside.

Yes...lower your car...no more than about one inch!! Do it right...go to TCKline and get true match springs that you can send back if you don't like the ride.

I have 400 lbs tckline rear springs that I was keeping...but don't need now! Sell them for $150 shipped.
