Picked up the ///M about a month ago, and couldn't be happier. 1998 with 49,xxx miles. It's a completely different beast from the 325i vert.

Yes... 5 speed. Wouldn't have it any other way. Took me over 9 months to find one this clean, one owner, bone stock, and low mileage.

Let the modifying begin!

Looks GREAT.

If you dont mind us asking..how much?

There was (is?) an Estoril blue 1998 Vert around these parts with only 26k on her. Lowest they went two weeks ago was $17,900. Full OBC, HK, but no heated seats.

I would say that's a hell of a deal at $17,900. Mine has full OBC, HK, heated seats, near-perfect interior and exteriror. I paid $18,500. Probably could have gotten it a little cheaper, but I was tired of looking and this one was exactly what I was looking for. Plus, I'll be selling the staggered DSII's before long... that should help me feel better.

It was a VERY clean 98. It did have a check engine light glowing, and it was quite "creaky"..but other than that, it was flawless.

I opted for a 99 silver/Grey interior, with all of the options, but with 78k.
Working out a couple of issues with the top, but the rest of the mechanics are fine, save for the usual power steering hose leak. Body is in excellent shape, and interior as well. At $15,500, didn't want to pass it up. And to me, the blue one wasn't worth $2400 more than the one I chose.

And the lack of mileage was actually a concern of mine. 24k of the miles were between 1998 and 2001. Only 2k had been put on her since 2001. Thats not necessarily a good thing.

Bad VERT! Just out of curiosity, do you get attention from Police because it's red? I know I did, because I had a '88 Mustang GT!!

Sweet vert, looks just like the one I'm looking at. Sounds like the options are the same, too. What color is the interior?

Interior is black. Not the best thing for living in the South, but it looks great.

As to the question about attention from the cops, this makes the third Hellrot BMW in a row that I've owned.... and no problems. Of course it probably helps that I'm an "old fart" compared to most of you guys in here. :)

And thanks for the compliments. I'm very happy with my purchase. I looked at e46 M and non-M verts as well, but I've always had a soft spot for the e36 cars.

Nice vert. I like to see some interior shots.

And sorry for the knitpick, but here's a pic topic, which I see you also posted in already before this one.

If this one is as clean as it looks, it's a heckuva deal right about now. And in the color combo that I was actually looking for:

Not bad... slightly less than what I was seeing for automatics with that kind of mileage when I was looking, but I was only interested in manuals. :D

Not a factory headunit, and the glovebox door has a huge rip in it.

But other than that..

I'll take the rear DS2's if they are in good condition.

No factory headunit?

Ok not an e36 unit, but still...
