When I open the top....

do I have to push the latch handle back down after I start the semi auto open process? reason i ask is because my boot protector doesnt quite lock over the top. it comes very close, maybe a quarter inch but doesnt sit flush. i was wondering if that handle was keeping it from closin.

It's probably the headliner hanging over the edge of the stowage compartment that is causing it not to close all the way- Mine does that sometimes.

how do you get that fixed? what can i do to just get it to lock down

Yes you do have to put the handle flush and also tuck the top in some. Stop the top with the boot open and tuck the iop in and the boot should close. If it has always been this way then the boot needs adjusted...

There's a metal bar (thin, flexable) that (somehow) helps in the hedliner folding up properly.

It's sitting above and a little towards the windscreen when you sit in the car.

It has a hook on 1 side which goes through a loop in the tension strap in bwteen the outer roof and headliner and goes through 2 loops on passenger's side tension strap.
For whatever it's worth, at least make sure the pin is still in correctly.
