I'm looking for a good/reputable shop in the south bay that will install my PSS9s on my 97 M3 for a better price. They are a good shop but its kind of pricey for me. Any suggestions?

That's not pricey for a BMW. For a Japanese import, yes. Those guys do good work. Does price include alignment?

Wish I had time to spare, I would be able to help you out. PM SR20Fastback for install and then hit up EDGE for alignment/corner balancing.

1) carlab in santa clara. ask for darwin. www.carlabms.com (no alignment though)

2) auto innovations in milpitas. ask for orlando. www.autoinnovations.com (alignment available)

has anyone heard of trust auto in san bruno. i called them and they said $250 w/ alignment. if i can't find a decent place for $250-300 then I'm gonna try them out.

I don't think he wants to drive from San Jose in NorCal all the way to SoCal just for putting in a suspension, lol.

i don't know about the market average... but that seems really cheap to me. the shops around here are total rip offs and i've gotten quotes like $1250, not including parts and alignment/corner balance. (that was gonna be another $2000 and they won't work on parts I don't buy from that particular shop) In the end, I ended up doing everything in my own garage and went for an alignment elsewhere.

Good luck.

Its really pretty easy to do. I just dont have tools to do it. PM guc32, the man can swap em for you in probably an hour. Has everything short of a lift at his place ;)

I can help you if you come to me in Granada Hills. $150

I've done 6 suspension installs (that I can specifically remember, I know I've done more) on E36s, so I kinda consider myself an expert at it.

Just got back from installing the coilovers at Ralph's place. His place is sweet, it has a lift and all the tools a guy can dream of. He's also very knowledgable and helpful with all the questions I had. He did most of the grunt work w/ the front suspension and he let me help out by letting me do the rear suspension. We finished swapping the suspension in about three and a half hours and I learned quite a bit about my car. He gave me a great price too =)...I'd definitely recommend Ralph to anyone looking to get work done on their BMW. You have an opportunity to work alongside him and learn about your car as opposed to dropping it off at a shop and picking it up a few hours later not knowing what was done to it. His email is ralph.conway@hp.com. Thanks Ralph!!
