PRICE REDUCED!!!

red/tan interior

So here's a high mileage car that I was very skeptical about when I first saw it 3 days ago. I'm only selling it because of course, 3 days later my dream car pops up and I need to buy it and I can't live in downtown San Diego with 3 cars.

The odo says 219k but pretty much everything has been overhauled. I brought it to a BMW specialist here in downtown san diego called "BMW Service Specialists" in India street. We were both surprised at the condition of this car. The car has had a caring owner to get this far in such good shape and has had a lot of work done on it.

engine
I have receipts for the valve job, the timing chain, gaskets, guides, tensioner, newish valve cover, and probably a lot more work. The engine sounds great and pulls very strongly. In fact, I was a little surprised how much go this engine has and I daily drive an E46 M3 convertible with 333hp. There was a small oil leak but the mechanic just put a new copper ring on a bolt and voila, no more leaks.

The radiator looks new and is the Nissen type which I believe is OEM. The water pump has been replaced. The belts look to be in great shape as well.

Idle is steady under 1k, intake boot is in great shape. Did i mention it pulls strong?

transmission
The clutch and transmission is in great shape. If I'm honest, the shifter FEELS BETTER THAN MY M3! It has to have a newer transmission on there because the gears are snick snick and the clutch is in great shape. Leaving it in gear and stalling the engine immediately cuts it out with no slip.

suspension
The fronts are running newish bilsteins and I do not know what shocks are on the rear but pushing down on it, makes no noises and doesn't bounce.
The wheels are the standard 318is wheels running some no name tire I've never heard of but with good tread left. The rear shock mounts are newer and looks upgraded.

brakes
The brake sensor is on although the brakes are in good shape for both rotors and pads. No pulling during hard braking and no vibrations and no squealing. The brake sensor is a $5 part.

exhuast
The exhaust has also been retrofitted but needs new exhaust hangers and I'm most likely going to get it done tomorrow if the mechanic has space. Anyways, it passed Cali emissions.

body
The not so great part. The paint near the spoiler on the trunk seems somewhat faded and some of the paint on edges of the hood are somewhat faded as well. The bumpers are very faded. The glass is in great shape and very clear. There is no rust that I have found and I took a pretty damn good look around and inspected it underneath on a lift.

interior
The interior is in pretty damn good shape but the OBC LCD is hazy. I saw this part on ebay going for like $20 though. There are 2 small cracks on the dash but if you're so inclined, not a hard fix to replace the dash with a better one. The seats and interior trim otherwise looks to be in awesome shape. All power options including mirror and windows work fine. The crank sunroof works great as well.

Overall, mechanically, the car is in great shape and excellent running condition from what I can tell and from what the BMW specialist mechanic could tell from his inspection.

Cosmetically, the body is not super great but there are no big dents anywhere. The interior however, except for the 2 small dash cracks is in fantastic shape.

I have been told that this used to belong to a BMW dealership mechanic and was very well taken care of.

There is an aftermarket Pioneer headunit installed that actually sounds pretty damn good. I think it was called the DEH2700 or something like that.

On the highway, the car pulls strongly and I never find myself wanting for power. The odometer gear needs replacing and I've been told the gear tooth broke about 12k miles ago.

What it needs:
I would replace the fluids because I do not know the last time it was done.
The front control arm bushings need to be replaced as well. One of them was fine, the other looked in not so good shape.
The wiring to the front speakers need to be checked.

I think this should be a pretty damn detailed description :)

$2250

Photos, unfortunately only took camera phone photos although they're pretty good quality for a camera phone. This was just this morning in the shop to get the exhaust looked at.

Will take better photos later[/URL]

I'm interested. I'm pretty sure i know which one this was on CL.
I ahve so much work to do on my house that I can't make a weekend trip to San Diego for a view until beginning of March.
It may sell by then. I'll just have to contact you and see if it sold by then.
