That car has been around forever. It's a TEC3, Turboed E36 M3 that made 540hp the first time they built it. I have no idea what its up to now.

It's in all the Teckademics movies and it's been on many many road rallies and was the star of dtmpower.net. I'm a little surprised no one has seen it, the car has gotten lots of press.

I think when that video was out, it made 453 rwhp. The last I heard, he made over 500rwhp, but took it down to around 420 for reliable, predictable power on the track.

Not to feed into this, but I remember watching the OLD OLD vids in high school, of his 99 dakar with the Zeemax kit. We were all like :eek: . Didn't even have a license yet. 19" PG3s.. yeah back in the day that thing was crazy. Now BMW modding is everywhere, you can pass a bimmer on the road with DDEs, etc. Strange how things have changed so much. Either way that car sold me on getting an E36 M3 (my dad had also just gotten a '98 Dakar vert but I don't think he knew what M was all about.)

Actually when he dropped the Intrax sponsorship and went with KWs (when it was getting turboed) I picked up the Intrax ARS kit off his hands for dirt cheap :redspot
He used to be pretty local, I'd see them around the meets and stuff on the weekends.

Its not wrecked or blown, he had the motor rebuilt. It took two years. It was avus blue for a while until it was it was turned into a track car. Its not ferrari yellow anymore. He's running the NOPI Drift schedule with it. A few days ago it put down 410whp at 10psi.

This car was built for the UK gumball, but got stuck in customs. Apparently they didn't know what they were doing when they were shipping it overseas and they had to drive some piece of shit rental instead. It was actually pretty hilarious b/c they blew it up. Anyways, the car was built by Karl and the guys at AA.

I think you've got things mixed up. He tagged a wall as soon as he got the car back a few months ago and went through another turbo. The motor started getting rebuilt a few years ago.

And if I remember correctly from the dtmpower days, there were some problems with AA's tuning on it which in turn caused some damage in cylinder 5/6. He tried to get it rebuilt at a bunch of places until ICS knocked it out within something like 72 hours.

Most drifters have a rev limit set much lower than the point where a motor would blow up. Just FYI. It's basically impossible to overrev them.

Yeah I remember when DTMpower was THE bmw forum to be on. Dado and his buddies were pretty much the only guys that had modded BMW's.

For those of you that werent in the Bimmer community 6 years ago, its probably hard for you to understand that Dado and his friends were pioneers in the BMW tuning world. Now you see a tuned BMW everywhere you look. 6 years ago everyone followed Dado's progress with his car and his buddies cars closely because they were pretty much the only ticket in town. Since 2001 the tuning world for Euros has blown up and things are a lot different now. So yeah, those of us that have been around for a while and remember what DTMpower was like get a little misty eyed when it gets brought up.

I've met him before and he was a great guy...I actually had no idea who he really was until after 20 minutes of just talking with him. He was at the same event I was in and I ended getting a little ride with him in that car...definitely a little monster! :)

So seeing that no one has really a true back ground of this car here it goes!!!

Car was build for a track car, cage and that good stuff. Motor was built with a AA turbo kit. Motor died (Unknown reasons for saftey). After his car sitting at the shop to get it rebuilt for around a yearish. He ask ICS to build him a motor for money. They did it super fast like every other ICS build. He got his motor back and got his car running again.

ITS A DRIFT CAR. It has crashed like almost 100% of the drift cars out there. He made it to do track days and drift events. He found that drifting was alot of fun so he went 100%ish into drifting. Yes the car is beat up, just like all the other drift cars.

It's the Nopi Drift Inaugural event. First event of the season and also the start for NOPI Drag races

We just left Sonics and blew a trailer tire. It was so loud I thought the rear gate flew down. Marks took the rig to get a tire mounted before this one shop closes. Me and Perdue are sitting on the side of Rt.40 watching "Joy Ride" in the trailer.
