My Coop's key... (help pls)

Hey guys, on the back of my car key the little sticker/tape thing that was on there is starting to come off pretty badly now... It's got two numbers on there, the FCC ID and CAN. Do you know if I actually need these numbers or not? I'm thinking about just writing the numbers down and peeling the sticker the rest of the way off because its getting real damn annoying... Anybody else have a problem with this damn sticker? :az:

I hope you don't need them... they rubbed off the back of my key a long time ago.

STOP! Don't touch that sticker. It's similar to those tags on your furniture, removal is subject under penalty of law.:eek: j/k

Not to worry, as the keys for the S and the CVT have that exact same sticker.

Those tags are only illegal to remove before you buy them.... ;)

I think those have to do with the radio signals the key sends out when unlocking/locking etc your car. I already took mine off.

Exactly... I believe anything that transmits or receieves data (radio signals) should have an FCC communication ID on it. I've seen it on numerous devices. I've never actually needed that information before...

Yeah, it's off now. I can't believe that a company like BMW would put vital info on a sticker on the outside of an item like a key, and no place else :dunno

Mine fell off earlier this month, lasted for 4 1/2 months! I tried my best to keep it on. Oh well.
