Does anyone have this installed, and have you had any problems? At low idle, do you notice the lights dimming or anythign out of the ordinary? I know the dangers of an aluminum flywheel, but I just asking strictly about the pulley with a stock flywheel. Thanks

No problems and great power gain. I did notice the power steering assist is less at low speeds, like parking lots.

Did you install this yourself? How difficult?? I was looking through the Bentley Manual but it doesn't too much.

Yeah, i installed it with a friend. You have to take the underpanel off, belts, fan, water pump pulley, old crank pulley, then put the new one on.

Installed mine a few weeks ago(also fan delete) & went to the track yesterday( no thrown belts). You will really notice it in 1st & 2nd gear, the car will rev more freely and pull harder. My lights do dim went car is warmed up and at ~600rpm idle.
Give yourself a full day for the install but it should take a couple of hours with beer breaks. Removal of underpanel and fan is reccomended if not a requirement. The belt is NAPA #060598 buy an extra one.
Crank pulley is NOT to be used in conjunction with lighten flywheel. I did the research and they are safe without the light flywheel.
Crank pullies are disputed to have better gains than non-crank underdrive pulley sets. The reason being there is a five pound weight reduction when crank timing gear/dampener (not used on +96 cars) is replaced with ERT pulley. Plus under driving the accessories.
If you car has ~50K miles and no cooling system work I would reccomend the bimmerparts.com(see specials) cooling package less the radiator(belts, hoses, H20 pump, t-stat & alum.housing). One step further would be the fan delete.

I've had the ERT pulley installed for about 3 years. Had absolutely no problems with it. Even hobbled with an auto-box, the gains were readily apparent. No issues with vibrations or alternator/battery/electrical. I have since traded the pulley for another ERT product (VORTECH BLOWER! woohoo!), and its sitting in the garage.
Let me know if you are interested.

Hey guys
I'm installing the ERT Pulley tomorrow and need to know what torque specs or anything of that nature I need to know. Do I really have to remove the fan or waterpump pulley to pull the old one out??? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!!

Ted,
get a Bently manual. Has all the tq specs and part#'s. It will pay for itself in 1 project. Yes the pulley must be removed to access the WP.
