Moon roof = glass, Sun roof = metal. I think that's been put to rest, if I've been reading old posts correctly anyway...
ANYWAY, my sun roof comes down and then slides back under the roof as advertised. However are these sliding roofs supposed to "vent" upwards as well? I see picks on the boards with people having their roofs up, the thing is mine doesn't do that. Is it a Euro Spec thing or do I have a FUBAR relay/switch that isn't allowing the roof to go up?

If your sunroof is supposed to tilt, on the switch there'll be a dimple-like thing with a pictogram vaguely representing a tilting sunroof.
Moonroofs, from what I gather, were a dealer-installed option and extraordinarily rare.

No pictogram/hieroglyphics, just arrows pointing forward and back. There is however a nice index finger sized dimple right in the middle.
Yup it works. BMW obviously isn't working on the K.I.S.S. principle.... :rolleyes
Edit -- Yeah, an ENGLISH manual would've worked out great in this situation. My German is getting much better however!
