Question About Euro CR Trans.

With the E30 M3 Euro transmission, the fifth gear ratio is 1:1, as opposed to .83:1 in the US spec, right? Does this limit the top speed of the euro version, or is that a question of power? I know the Evo III has a higher top speed than the US spec and it has this Close Ratio Euro transmission. Help?

evo iii's had a 3.15 final drive; U.S. cars had 4.10's. that attributes to [some] of the difference in top speed...

Yes, the CR gearboxes had different differential ratios which would even it out.
