Engine out of a '96 328i sedan with 96,000 miles. Overheated. Ran when pulled. Probably needs head work. Fairly complete. Can ship, but it can be pricy. $500 or make an offer.
Let me know if you are interested.

I may be interested but I would need it shipped. What is included for $500? Can you guarantee that the head isnt crack or warped and if the pistons / valves are still good?

I can send pictures if you PM me your email address. Engine wiring harness is still on. I need the idle control valve before I ship it. Engine was overheated by the previous owner. I bought the car and installed a different engine. I did not do any diagnosis of the engine that I am selling., i.e. I did not tear off the head to take a look. It ran when I pulled it, but I can't guarantee anything about it. Selling as-is.
I can check on shipping cost, but it will probably be $350 to $500. Or you can arrange shipping. I can drop it off at a terminal in Rolla, MO on a pallet.
Let me know.

I am still interested. I have no idea how to handle shipping as I have never dealt with an item this large.
So it was still running (but overheated) when you got it? Does it include acc such as alternator, a/c, manifold, throttlebody, etc?
My email is vwrado@hotmail.com

Thanks for the pic. That is exactly what i am looking for but the shipping is a deal killer. I will try to find a local engine. Good luck with your sale.

Do you still have this? Let me check out what I would need to swap this into a 1992 318is, and maybe get back to you with an offer.

It's not going to be worth it. OBDII to OBDI swap is a killer.

Is that sarcasm? OBD1 swap doesnt seem that bad to me...

If you're considering the other voltures looking for you to part it, would you also consider selling me the water pump pulley and power steering pulley?

I already bought that engine, harness, water pump, DME, exhaust, etc. It is sitting in my garage.
No idea why fleetside59 hasn't answered your posts.... maybe he's out of town?
