A e30 m3 trans. I don't really know about your car but trans is really hard to find for a e28 M5. It says that it only has 900 miles on it. I am thinking of getting a e30 M3 and I was wondering if this would be worth getting??

ps. if any knows where or how to get a e28 m5 trans please let me know.

pss could it fint m5 my?

The E30 M3 transmition is pretty easy to find. I would like to find the Euro version, which is called a 'Dogleg' gearbox, and the shift pattern is different, and the gearing is also different. Those are kind of hard to find at a good price here.

Check back in some of the past threads about buying an E30 M3, or even do a search, we've had a ton of those threads!

That is the Getrag 265 transmission found in 1981 528i 5-speed, 1985 535i/635Csi, and all E30 M3 in the USA. For your M5 you will need to either rebuild the Getrag 280 (about $1000-3000 depending on how much work you want/need) or buy a Getrag 265 and possibly a new driveshaft. The Getrag 280 is pretty big, and the 265 may need a longer driveshaft.

BTW--What is wrong with your M5 transmission? Grinding? Can't shift when cold? Try Red Line MTL or good organic ATF.

The E30 M3 tranny is awesome. The dogleg is too expensive, but worth it! Was that you who won?
