Evites will be sent out soon. Im starting a Caravan for the South Bay to meet with the East Bay bimmerz at Stoneridge Mall. Meeting spot...the usual Star Bucks on De Anza Blvd and Stevens Creek. Ive noticed it gets kind of confusing with parking but lets meet on the side of the Gas Station. Theres a open space (facing the gas station) on its right. Meeting will be 9:30am. Leaving no later than 10:20am. If you can't make it that early to the meeting spot you can always meet us in front of Macy's at Stoneridge Mall. Johnny

actually most the people at our table were of age. this was after a night of heavy drinking, since it was my bday. only one person (chad) got soaked. but he really got soaked. we were kinda pissed how management handled the situation. we asked management to at least comp chad's whole meal. they wouldn't do it. instead, they gave him a t-shirt that cost $5 to make. go figure.

Just so everyone knows we are not going to have the same set up as last time. With the private room, personal menus and all that jazz. This is going to be a show up and everyone get their own tables. The last one was way too much stress because of the $1000 dollars I would have had to pay if everyone didn't show up because of the rain!!!:evil2

So hopefully things will be fine. I figured it should work like it did at Dave & Busters. Where groups of people go in to eat as they feel like it. And also this is the Pyramid in Walnut Creek not Berkeley. Just for a little change.

I don't know if that's a good idea, the sound of 17 and all that power, it scares the hell out me.

Well, it's a Bimmer, but I suggest a BMW:round driving school to anyone that drives a rocket, no matter what age. :D

Here's the URL to the Walnut Creek Pyramid page: URL (http://www.pyramidbrew.com/alehouses/walnut_creek.php). It contains the address and a link to a map. Has anyone thought about parking, which generally sucks big time in downtown Walnut Creek (although the lack of it abates some on the weekend, particularly on Sunday)?

I think there's a public lot at the corner of Lincoln and Broadway with ample room that is only a couple of blocks away from the brewery. Assuming the brewery has limited (if any) customer parking, which is probable...

It was awesome except for blowing a heater hose on the way home in Palo Alto.
Thanks to Greg and his AAA Plus Card, I got a car carrier and had the car brought back to Pleasanton.
Also, thanks to Doug for the ride home in his '01 M3, I would of loved to have riden/drove his '94 superchaged 540 though, his wife got to drive it.

I received the evite, thanks.

FWIW, there is only parking for around 20 cars at the summit and the park rangers will likely want advance warning if a single group plans on taking all of those spots for any extended period of time (925-837-2525). There is a second parking lot a couple hundred feet down from the top, but if my memory serves me, it's not very scenic. The best spot for a large group of cars might be Juniper Campground at the 3,000' level. It has a panoramic overview of Walnut Creek. I'm attaching a photo I took just down the mountain slightly from Juniper on New Years.

There is a small day use fee for entering the park -- I think it's $2. The rangers vigorously enforce speed limits, and those limits are low: 15-20 MPH most places. If the weather is nice, there will be hordes of bicyclists on the mountain.

(That's the wall at the top of the mountain - 18% grade for about 300 yards, and there is nowhere for the cyclists to go to let you pass.)

Thanks for the info Cliff. I forgot about the $2 park fee. The parking lot we use is the one before the summit. This will be our 3rd time up there and we have never had problems at that parking lot. It is set pretty far back from the main road so it should not be a problem. We should check out Juniper Campground though for a new spot. Tell me exactly where it is when we meet at Stoneridge. When on the mountain we DO NOT ever exceed the speed limit. With the rangers and the bicyclists it would just be too risky.

Nice Pic! See you on Sunday!

We will then take over the peak parking lot for a little while for some photos. Then we will head down the North Side into Walnut Creek, where we will make our way to Pyramid Brewery. There is a parking garage on Locust Ave, which we will be using. Pyramid Brewery will Validate parking if you eat at their establishment. We will be contacting someone just to make sure we don't have security greet us at the parking garage.

We do NOT have reservations and a private room, like last time. This will be a go in and eat all on your own. If you feel like making reservations for you and your party please feel free to.

South Bay Caravan to Nordstrom's at Stoneridge Mall.
Meeting spot...the usual Star Bucks on De Anza Blvd and Stevens Creek. I've noticed it gets kind of confusing with parking but lets meet on the side of the Gas Station. There's a open space (facing the gas station) on its right. Meeting will be 9:30am. Leaving no later than 10:20am. If you can't make it that early to the meeting spot you can always meet us in front of Nordstrom's at Stoneridge Mall.
