I just picked up a set of 6, OEM style#68 M wheels. It was a screaming deal that I couldn't pass up... and I was in the market for something different, but still OEM look and quality. (can't afford the style-5's)

Included are 2 17x7 and 4 17x8.5. (4 tires were also included---only 2 match)

Here is my thought, I'm going to have 2 of the rears refinished and mount them on my e36 sedan. The offset on the rears is 51mm, so I'll need to run a spacer. (lowered suspension: BavAuto Springs---Bilstein Sports)

Question 1. Will a 15mm spacer work best for the rear application?

Now to get to the point. I was considering running my extra set of rears on the front of my car.

Question 2. Is the same 15mm spacer the best set-up here?

Question 3. Will doing this kill my ride and performance?

Question 4. If I do this, what size tires would you suggest... F and R??

Any suggestions and advice is appreciated.

You can run wheels with 15mm spacer, no problem.

But i would recommend 20mm spacers. Wheels will be in pefect position.
No fender work will be necessary. Performance is also perfect.

Best tire choice is 225/45-17 or 235/40-17 on front and rear.

If I use a 20mm spacer, that will bring my offset down to 30mm on the wheels. I'm just a little worried about fender problems. I wish there was a way that I could see the difference between the 15 and 20mm spacers without going through the trouble of buying a couple.

You shouldn't need a spacer in the rear, I have the same wheels on my car and no spacers. As for the front, haven't tried.

It seems as tho lots of people are running the rears without spacers, but with the 50mm offset, it just seems that the wheel would look a bit recessed into the well without.

Can anybody post a pic that shows how far the wheel can come out if I were to go with a spacer?

I guess that I'll just have to do some fitment experiments on the front.

What's all this talk about rear spacers? Its not necessary, with such a wide wheel, a high offset isnt going to make it look goofy. For the fronts, a 15mm spacer will be needed to clear the strut with an 8.5 with such offset.

On 8.5s, you should run 245s idealy.
