how much hp // torque does the supersprint exaust system for the 1991 535i provide at peak?

Dude I looked everywhere I can remember that sold the things and I couldn't find a dyno anywhere. Dinan has a dyno of improvements with a chip AND exhaust, I think they do that just to piss me off so I can't see the individual effects.

However, from everything I've seen with the M30, if you don't put a chip in it you're nuts. The power gains are incredible.

Also, it also appears that the 535i and the 525i use the same exhaust. I know with the 525i I gain atleast a few hp from stuff I've read, and you're moving 40% more volume. Any numbers I type for hp/tq gains would be pure guesswork, so I'll leave you to your own devices.

exhaust will give you hardly any hp increase. a few at the most. don't expect much.

buy the exhaust for sound, looks, and quality.

Sorry to disapoint you, but the answer, simply, is no. The most efficient mufflers can only employ the same scavenging effect as a header, to help slightly overcome the loss of efficiency introduced into the system as back pressure. But no engine makes more power with a muffler than an open header exhaust.

There is three types of muffler:
• Absorption mufflers are the simplest. the construction consists of a perforated tube that goes through a can filled with a packing material, such as fiberglass or steel wool. This is similar to simply punching holes in your exhaust pipe, then wrapping it up with insulation.
