Is anyone aware of an aftermarket strut boot cover that would be stronger than the stock one. My front struts are good, but the boots are torn, and I assume this will eventually kill the struts, though I don't really know how much the boot protects. I just seems ridiculous to have to replace struts at around $180 per side due to a $1.25 boot tearing.

You are going to have to replace them anyway in the future. They need replacing somewhere south of 100K miles anyway. But yes, there are a couple of options. KYB makes a boot that should work. You have to disassemble the strut to put anything on. If you are doing the labor yourself, it's nothing, but if you have to pay for it, then you might as well replace the struts, it's just parts cost at that point. The labor will be the same to remove and disassemble for the boot.
