Hey Guys,

I Have a 95 m3 with a pre 12/94 production date. Turner said I should have a 506 CPU, but, my cpu is a 413. I have an opportunity for a good deal on a 413 chip. Will All 413 chips work with 413 CPU's? I did some searching and it looks like some members clip CPU wires to make the 506 work with the 413, (EWS Delete), but, I don't want to mess around with clipping wires.

Thanks,

M Wringer

At the recycler where I work, we have found Turner/Comforti chips in various 413 brains and they all work in other 413 brains. The one that came out of the 413 brain in my M3 was a T413-300 with 1995 M3 next to it. I think Turner is off on the dates for the 506 brain. It was used on the early M3s UP TO 12/94. If the VIN number on the cover of the brain matches the VIN of your M3, it is the correct one. Make sure you get the encryption piece that goes between the chip and the connector on the brain. I believe it will not work without it.
