I just got my hands on a 1998 M3 in silver on dove with a manual transmission. Other than the clear turn signals on the rear it is bone stock. I love this car almost as much as my own son. I'll be taking care of the pulley tensioner, the steering wheel squeak, a small exhaust problem, and changing the water pump really soon, but what else would you advise I do? I will have pics tomorrow night after I wash, claybar and wax.

I did see the write up and it is good info. I honestly think it's the slip ring.

I now have to go ask for a raise so the modding can get into full throttle. I think I may be going to Autowerks for a lot of the modding just because there will be no shipping for me, they are a local company now.

Welcome and Congrats. Rule#1 pics are required, I know you're working on that.

Congrats! Before a lot of mods I would get to know the car have fun with it then set your repair/modification priorities. Do the basics: struts and shocks if they are still original, RTAB's, RSM's.

But I have a real life manual transmission, not one of those weak SMG cars.

Tisk tisk. Haters.
What does f1 use.... SMG ... enough said.
And by the way I was the one who told him about the car and helped him get it. So our batter about who car is better is just for fun.
To each his own for manual or smg.

In dragon's defense; I'll admit to the awesomeness of his car. SMG and all. We are just talking smack for fun. I know for a fact I can drive; and in his car I could rip it up. I love my car and I prefer the look of the E36 M3 for a lot of reason, but If I could afford doing the proper install of dragon's drivetrain into my car I would be all over it.:buttrock
post some pics!
congrats, im still looking for my baby... m3 or 328is, i cant decide!
