I had a pretty bad week and needed to go out and SCREAM with my car a little while. Anyway I was coming out of this corner and ran through first gear really hard. I don't redline my car that often but I did this time and looked down and my tach read something around the 6800RPM range.

Now i know stock the redline is 6500 (before the fuel gets cut off by the computer). You people with stock chips does it actually cut it off at a readable 6500? If so my car might've been chipped by the previous owner. I don't have time to take the computer out to see what chip I have but now I am starting to wonder.

I've seen the same in my car. It tends to creep a little into the redline before bouncing off the limiter [though, I've never hit it]. I'd like to see more input on this though, makes me wonder if the tach is entirely accurate.

pulling the ecu out of your car takes a whole 30 seconds, it's pretty easy and just needs a phillips head screw driver.
