with my car , it should be bumped through a hole beneath the engine. So i have to lift it - the car - up.. eveytime I change the transmission oil. I don't know how it works with american BMWs.

so its not so visible like the engine oil i have to go throuhg the engine and the car is 93 325is american by the way
i guessing you mean the tranny fluid. on the trans near the drive shaft thier should be to bolts that screw into the trans. thiers one facing the side of the car and one facing towards the bottom. i say drain all your fluid out by loosing the bottom and top one. then screw the bottom one back on and refill with the bolt facing the side of the car. fill it so the fluid starts coming out of the same hole. then quickly close it up. shift through the gears drive it around then fill it again if its not to the top anymore.

i dont need to drain any of it k here is the problem the car is smoking really bad from the engine and the excaust well basically everywehre and im pretty sure its from the trans becuase it need a rear end seal that needs to be fix so its leaking all the trans oil and its running out of any to run on and switch gears

no dipstick for auto tranny. just a drain plug on bottom, and fill plug on side. but if your car is smoking, check the valve cover gasket. likely to be leaking oil onto the exhaust manifold and burning off.
