Hey guys I just got someone to install a UUC short shift kit in my M3 and now when I shift from 1st to 2nd or 4th to 5th , or downshifting from 3rd to 2nd it makes this scraping metal sound almost like , gears grinding. What could this be has it happend to anyone else. help is greatly aprce.

So did they just replace the shifter stuff with a UUC kit? Could it possibly be grinding on the guibo? Like can you feel the shifter vibrate a lot when it grinds?

Could it be the gears? If it is the transmition, put some Redline MTL in there. It is miracle stuff, and it has even made bad transmitions that need to be rebuilt work fine again.

You should probably call UUC and ask them for their opinion on what is wrong.

I've driven in a manual E30 with a short shift from the Z3.
that's what the guy told me.
he bought it from BMW.
