Too many projects means I need to sell one.

1981 BMW 528i

I got this car about 4 - 5 years ago, and drove it off and on. The car drives well for it's age. The engine and transmission were replaced to get the car running after I got it as the original engine was run low on oil and sent the #5 rod through the block. The original automatic was ditched when the engine was swapped because it had some issues, too, and I like to row my own gears. About two years ago, she blew a head gasket. I fixed that and got the car running again. After the head gasket, she runs well, but idles rough. I think there's an air leak in the intake somewhere.

The transmission has a little bit of bearing noise while the car is idling. I noticed it for the first time very shortly after finishing the head gasket job. It's not the throwout because the noise occurs when the clutch is out.

The interior is a little rough; there are some tears in the seams of the driver's and rear seats. I don't have a trim panel to go underneath the steering column. The power windows and sunroof work. I think the car has power door locks, too.

The chassis and body is very straight. I haven't found any evidence of accident repair. The paint is shot, and there is a spot of surface rust on the hood. The chassis has no rust that I'm aware of, and the structure is all solid.

The original head from the blown engine will be included with the car.

I really need to get rid of this thing since it's taking up space at my parents house. Basically, the car has worn out it's welcome, lol.

I don't have a title for the car, either. This car would be a great parts car for an E12 lover.

I was thinking $500.00, but I'm open to offers.

I can't post pics yet due to my post count.

I can be reached by email - bdcarpe (at) clemson (dot) edu

I forgot to mention that the car is in Lawrenceville, GA, about 25mi NE of Atlanta.
