Why do I ask that?? I've setup a group buy for CF hoods. Please visit the GB section of this board.

As we know, shipping individually we would spend $110.00 EACH for our hoods. However, if they put everything in one BIG ASS crate and just shipped it to a central address (since it's my idea and group buy -- I suggest my mechanic's shop since it is a BUSINESS address -- cheaper than a residential address if you didn't know) -- we should be able to save a significant amount of money.

I have no idea how much; but, if there are say, maybe 3-5 people that buy it in the NoVA/DC/MD area, it might be worth looking into! Because, I would have everyone just PAY ME.

I would then place an order for 3-5 (or more) CF hoods and have them sent to the business address. You don't follow me?

Say for instance, we get 8 people in the GB. 4 of these people are in this region. Thus, each hood costs $375.00. Now, I order 4 hoods and pay $250 shipping.

Each one of us would have paid $440.00 TOTAL ($110.00 each times 4). Now, since shipping is only $250 (I'm guessing it could be MUCH MORE, etc). Then, we would only pay $60 per person about -- saving even MORE money.

That's my proposal to you guys. We could save a good chunk of change this way.

Although -- all of you should just give me your money you saved since it's my idea-- I should be paid for these brilliant ideas!! hehe....

Jason -

It would probably save about 35 lbs. I believe stock hood weighs around 55 lbs and a CF one would weigh around 15 lbs ... give or take a couple of lbs.

My concerns about this CF hood are:

1) fading due to UV exposure -- it has a UV coating; but, until we see long-term exposure; that coating may be crap. I will probably coat it additional times.

2) quality of fitment -- now, hood pins are normally used to push down the hood if it doesn't fit right--I want to avoid that.

3) hood pins -- might be needed if you drive triple digits -- a hood flying off is not a pretty sight.

4) heat issues -- you will need to insulate underneath the hood to protect it.
