Here are the details:
Brilliantrot (red) 1990 BMW M3 (E30 body style) 5 speed manual with 169,xxx miles. The compression was tested two months ago and it read 190 across all four cylinders. CLEAN TITLE.
The leather inside is pretty clean with minimal cracking and holes, the carpet doesn't have any real bad stains, the dash has no cracks, overall a very clean interior.
The car has been meticulously maintained with lots of paper work to show for it. The following have been replaced with OEM parts:
-timing belt and tensioner (replaced with a solid tensioner)
-clutch and flywheel (sport clutch and lightened flywheel installed)
-transmission (replaced about 23k ago with a 55k mile tranny)
-exhaust from headers back, including cats.
-transmission mounts
-radiator, thermostat, fan clutch, and spark plugs (last month)
-water pump
-steering rack
-new driveshaft
-new OEM brake pads, rotors, and wear sensors (installed less than a month ago)
Performance modifications to the car are as follows:
-Jim Conforti chip
-VSR center exhaust section w/ hi-flow cats
-Borla muffler
-Aftermarket oil pan baffle
-Exhaust cam gear from Sport Evo M3
-K&N filter
-4.73 rear end with Quaiffe LSD
-DTM steering rack bushing (replaces rubber piece with solid metal disc for better steering response)
-Bilstein Sport shocks w/ Eibach sport springs
-Racing Dynamics sway bars and bushings
-Aluminum control arms w/ offset bushings for proper alignment specs
-Bavarian Autosport front and rear strut braces
-Stainless Steel brake lines
-VSR roll bar (SUPER tight fit for maximum stiffness)
-Schroth 3" 4-pt harnesses
-Stock wheels with Falken Azenis RT-615 and decent thread life left
-Once again I'm sure I'm forgetting some things but I will edit the post accordingly.
THE (not so) BAD:
-The car has a couple cosmetic issues as you would expect from a 16 year old car. The biggest issues are two sizeable paint chips on the passenger rear fender (from debris that fell off a truck on the freeway), a drivers side door ding easily removed with PDR.
-The handle of the glove box broke off so it needs to be replaced (it still opens and closes)
-One of the interior dome lights' switches are broken (but the light still works)
Specs:
Weight 1300 kilo / 2866 lbs
Weight Distribution (f/r) 48/52
Drivetrain:
Engine Straight 4
Engine Location Front , longitudinally mounted
Displacement 2.302 liter / 140.5 cu in
Valvetrain 4 valves / cylinder, DOHC
Fuel feed Bosch Electronic Fuel injection
Aspiration Naturally Aspirated
Gearbox 5 speed Manual
Drive Rear wheel drive
Performance figures
Power 200 bhp / 149 KW @ 6750 rpm
Torque 240 Nm / 177 ft lbs @ 4750 rpm
BHP/Liter 87 bhp / liter
Power to weight ratio 0.15 bhp / kg
Top Speed 235 km/h / 146 mph
0-60 mph Acceleration 6.5 s
The E30 M3 has a pretty advanced engine for its time. It came with individual throttle bodies from the factory.
This car has a strong race bred heritage (one of the best records in DTM history).
IIRC only about 17000 were made for worldwide exports, including the US. I hear it's about 5000 that made it to the states, but I haven't confirmed that. Either way it's a fairly rare car.
