Just purchased my 5th BMW, the first with Navigation. I hesitated because I have been spoiled with portable units and Acura Navigation.
Can anyone tell me how you can find a specific location within the nav system? My example would be finding a restaurant by name...which is the way I usually use it. Eg: you travel to Chicago, a friend recommends a restaurant to try...how could you find it?
I tried searching the forums, didn't have much luck. Thanks for the info.
I hope I'm not disappointed with BMW technology, it would be such a shame in such a beautiful, beautiful car.

I don't have navigation in my 335, but I do have it in the Odyssey. I've been told that once you experience the Honda/Acura navigation that all other navigation systems are weak in comparison. I don't know how true that is though.

I am used to the Garmin Nuvi...which is awesome, Unfortunately for 2K, I believe that this system is weak. I do not think you can just search random names of business. It looks like you can look at restaurants, type of restaurant, and it will bring up what reflects that in your current area.
There are many many lacking features of the built in navigation...I have to say that I am disappointed after a couple of days with it. Maybe I am wrong and others can chime in.

From experience, the Acura system is simply the best. The nav in my Audi was o.k but not as intuitive as the one in the RL. I am using the Garmin NUvi 66o in the coupe and it is clear and precise.

I was kind of afraid you all would say that. I'll keep hunting around, if I come up with something, I'll be sure to let you all know.
Till then, it sure looks nice, just not the best nav system out there.
