I'm doing the Skip Barber race school at Laguna Seca in a few weeks, and I'm trying to find a hotel.
I don't know the Monterey area at all. Looking at the map, Laguna appears to be right in between Monterey and Salinas.
Are there any hotels at the racetrack or am I going to have to rent a car?
If any of you have stayed at Laguna overnight, any advice would be great.

Thanks,
Han

I've stayed at the Embassy Suites when I had a track day, it's about a 10 minute drive to Laguna Seca. I think this is the closest hotel to the track.

Han:

I live right across the street from Laguna Seca.....there aren't many hotels super close....it's kind of a rural area.....Embassy Suites is pretty close (a little less than 10 minutes)....or you could stay in the "Travel Lodge" on Fremont street....

I attended the (2) day course and it was SICK.....there were only 3 people (including me) in the class! How many people are going to be in your class? You definately want to go when there are less people....more Viper time!

Double Tree Hotel is right in Downtown, about 15 min from the track and there are plenty of cool restaraunts around it.

thanks for the info, fellas. I figured it would have to rent a car...
I've made a reservation for the Days Inn in downtown Monterey ($50/night), and I'm renting a Dodge Neon ($43/day).

Nathaniel: This is the 3 day race school with formula dodges, not the driving school with the vipers.
I think there are supposed to be around 10-12 people in each class.
