For sale is my 1997 BMW M3 Arctic Silver Coupe. It is located in Massapequa NY, in Long Island.

Here is the list of general stats:

1997 BMW M3 2 door coupe
Arctic Silver
Dove Grey interior
96700 miles
Sport package /w sunroof
5 speed manual
Clear title, 4th owner, CARFAX'd three weeks ago to make sure!
No accidents during my ownership, no accidents showing up in carfax for previous ownerships
looking for $13,400

I can email someone the whole story, but the short of it is that I have a new consulting engineering job as of Dec 06, and company policy for using your own car is 5 years new/4 door. Still within the BMW family though, picked up a 2006 325i 6spd. Driving wise, it does not even compare(you can look up my complaining thread over at e90post).

I am a very anal/paranoid owner and I've changed many parts that were probably even still good. I have the majority of receipts for the work and replacement parts. I owned this car thinking that I was going to keep it for a while, so there has been alot of recent maintenance and part replacement.

For the next owner's piece of mind, here are the things other than regular maintenance that you wont have to worry about:

New shocks: Monroe Sensatrac struts, OE Boge/Sachs shocks 08/06
New RTABS 08/06
New 02 sensors 09/06
New tie rod 10/06
New swaybar endlink 11/06
New clutch/tb/pressure plate @60k
Climate control capacitor fixed
Oil pump nut tacked on
E46 RSM with Z3 reinforcement plates
Mobil 1/Royal purple Synthetic oil used every 5k
Transmission fluid recently changed 11/06 from RP Synchromax to Mobil 1 ATF
Spark plugs recently changed, NGK 11/06

As far as extra parts, the car will come with:
Extra set of OEM taillights(non OEM clear was put on the car by prev owner)
Moldings and door handles painted Arctic silver by prev owner
Illuminated 5spd OEM shift knob
OEM Armrest cupholder set
Old clutch/pressure plate, still good
OEM X-Brace
UUC TME black reinforced transmission mounts
UUC DSSR selector rod
UUC Delrin carrier bushings

Imperfections:
Passenger fender dent(2)
Passenger door dent
Passenger sideskirt chunk at buttom
Drivers side heated seat does not work

I was not too big on power mods, sound systems, body kits or just non-OEM mods in general. Most of the parts I bought were OEM or reinforcement parts. If you were looking for a "hooked up" car, this probably isn't what you want.

As you can see, the paint still shines and I've taken very good care of it. The car is not "immaculate" or "pristine perfect", but imperfections are expected for a 10 year old car. Yes, it will have a few scratches, it will have a ding here and there.

I would seriously ask less for the car, but with the amount of parts and things that you will not have to worry about(oil pumpnut, rsm, rtabs, etc), I think this price is very fair.

Please do not low ball me, I will negotiate the price based on reason(changing tires or car needs work), but am not a dealership who is playing the haggling game. And please no wire transfer offers from Nigeria!

Thanks for looking, if anyone wants more details about this car or my personal life and why I am selling it in detail, please email me at hom.jerry@gmail.com I also have more pictures on photobucket, and can of course take more. There may have been other parts I will include as well or have changed in the past that I do not remember as of now, so I will update accordingly.

It is far from beat. You cant compare my large giant photos to smaller low res ones. You obviously wont be able to see the smaller imperfections on for sale ads with two or three tiny pictures.

No the moldings were not "spray painted" on. The moldings and door handles were taken to a paint shop by the previous owner.

Well I see a fist sized dent, dirty, cracked interior seating, major chips on front mouldings, etc. While those are all "fixable" you have a 97 with 100K listed at a premium price of $14K. I think it would sell no problem at $11k-$12k.

"Fixable" could describe that, still work on it would be under 2k, doubt the time would be that bad on the work to be done.

As far as the interior goes, someone up on their leatherique could help out us with opinion on that.

**pictures are now shown in original post**

So if anyone was doubting the condition of this car being "beat", it is not. And yes, the interior is in great shape. It is in better shape than many E36 cars with similar miles and year. Dont let the lighting fool you. I seriously need to turn on flash.

The only thing that is beat on this car are the license plates, which I recycled from my old accord.

Das auto, I would really appreciate it if you did not make my car seem like it is worth less than it is, especially without seeing/driving it. The cost to repair the dents should someone choose to do so, was quoted at $700 for the fender and door. My car is priced below what many other M3's go for, and I will negotiate with a buyer accordingly. Good luck with your search.

No offense, but who the hell puts those cheesy ass bumper "guards" or whatever on a BMW, let alone an M3? I see that type of shit on corollas! I would question the owners sanity!

Other than the dents you have a very nice car that's well worth a look at that price. Someone with a few friends in the body work biz could get themselves a nice car at a good price. I'm shocked that you would do that much maintenance just before you sold it, but hey more power to you.

Well i do kind of regret putting in about 1500 worth of work into the car. The new job just kind of caught me by surprise, and sunk cost into a car is the last of my worries. Company policy for field engineers using their own cars says that it must be 4 door and 5 years new, otherwise you can drive around in something like an Impala LS company car.

Look, I know the bumper guards are cheesy, but you do what you have to do to protect your car. The new owner can remove those easily if they want to.

As a matter of fact-- I put the same exact bumper guards on my 06 325!
