Has anyone gotten a custom exhuast on their 335 yet? I'm thinking about taking it into a shop this week. Agency Power's exhuast system is a 2.5'' cat back system. Is it possible to go much bigger without loosing horspower? Like if I was to go with 2.75'' or 3.00'' piping.

Ithink 2.5 should be the max for stock turbos thats what im gonna go with .

I'd go for the 3 inch, especially if you're going to chip it.

No offence but just hold off on the exhaust. Milltek is making one for the 335i which should be out soon. Cant go wrong there.

Agency Power's exhuast system really doesnt sound too great.

i would wait for either a Supersprint or Borla product personally. I have experience with both and they are excellent products with great quality and performance characteristics.

Speaking of exhaust...and trying not to sound too much like a newbie...my 335i sedan is only a few days old and I love it! I noticed this morning that more condensation "steam" is coming from the right exhaust pipe than the left. It also seems like there's more air flow from that exhaust pipe. Anything to this? Anyone else experience this?

It is a turbo back but it is still 2.5'' back from the cat. And I agree that Agency Power's doesn't sound good, a little to raspy and loud.

The right exhaust pipe is only used at idle and at the beginning of start up. It doesn't use both at times for efficency purposes.

All the exhaust coming form tuners are going to be turbo back. But I do agree with everyone. Just hold off on the exhaust system. But if you cant wait, talk to vishnu I heard they have a nice proto type exhaust system that they will be happy to make for you.

Thanks...that was really bothering me. I had convinced myself that I had some sort of exhaust problem w/improper back pressure on the engine, etc. No worries now.

Wow, not including cats, about $2300+ for the dual dual tips. That is a quite a chunk of change. Guess prices have gone up since I was tuning my riceburners.

I will be having a custom exhaust intalled in my e90 335 on Feb 3rd.
Made from scratch, at a very well respected exhaust shop in LA.
They specialize in twin turbo B5 S4s, so they know FI cars very well.
If they make the power they think they will with my car, they'll be a line of cars at thier door.

Once mine is produced, they will market the system and it'll be worth every penny. Sound wise and Power wise.

I'll post clips and videos and pre and post Dyno plots when it's all said and done.

Cheers,

kj

Hi,
Have had the exhaust on for two weeks.
We're going to change one thing, which is the reason I haven't posted anything yet.

FYI, the tuner companies, at the moment are only making CAT Back designs.
No one has hi flow DPs yet, which what a Turbo Back exhaust is.

We'll eventually have hi flow DPs, but we just want to get this into full prodcution form and then move on to the DPs.

I'll do dyno's this friday.

Sounds great. Just a slight drone from 1,700 to 2,400 rpm.
Which is the reason for the slight modification, to rid ourselves of the drone.

My guess is it's making about 20+ WHP, as I can break the Toyo's loose in 2nd gear now.
The stock car would barely break the RFTS loose.
So, it is, making a noticeable, seat of the pants, power increase.

We'll post a prelim dyno sheet this weekend and I'll shoot some clips if we're happy with the sound after the alterations are done.

It'll be a nice set up, for sure.
