Sad day...but I have to give up on the ol' Bimmer. I bought this reliable vehicle in May '87 and now it's time to pass it along to someone who can restore new life into it.
The engine is still going strong with 276+ miles, but it has an electrical problem that I'm trying to troubleshoot. It may be the alternator because after I run the engine, the battery is completely drained. I had the alternator checked and was told it was good, but that's hard to believe. I just replaced the starter and battery, and I have kept a journal of all the maintenance done on the vehicle. I changed the oil religiously and always had a reliable BMW mechanic work on it. Paint is faded but body is perfect with no rust.
