Hello every one, I'm new around here and hoping to pick up a E39 540i soon. I'm in the process of selling my s2000 which i love but was getting tired of and as soon it's gone ill be looking for the perfect 540i to pick up. And I'm also exited to join the community here and contribute to the forum.

Some questions I have:
I have done some searching and the best pricing I can find for a quality m5 front/read bumper combo is around $1500. Are there any better deals out there that you guys know of? Also what do you guys do about the exhaust since the m5 style dual/quad exhaust will be needed to fill out the bumper. should I just a custom exhaust made? If so what sizing is recommended as far as piping goes?

I'm so used to purchasing all my japanese style products for the honda and can't seem to find any websites for after mareket part retailers for bmw's. Any suggestions?

I am also really anal about how my car looks as far as lowering and wheels. What are typical after market wheels set up's? Im talking as far as tire size and offsets/wheel width. And what's the most agressive I can go as far as size and offset before i start rubbing and messing fenders up?

Pic of my s2k: (i guess i cant post a pic here is the link h ttp://img243.imageshack.us/img243/8901/dsci0237xp1.png (copy/paste it in)

All help appreciated, thanks guys!

I know you can get a better deal with the bumers, look in our group buy forum, a few vendors will sell you an M5 bumper for around 300 dollars, not sure about the rear.

Welcome to the forums!

Welcome. The 540i is a nice choice, always been my favorite. Do you know which one you're buying yet? If you get a 540i /6spd it may coem with some nice bodywork fromt the factory.

As for places to shop, you'll find out soon enough by trolling the forum but you shoudl probably order a useful catalog from BMP at www.bmpdesign.com and Bavarian Autosport at www.bavauto.com. Both have aftermarket as well as oem parts stuff.
You need more posts to post the link, I tried to but somehow failed.

Yea, I really enjoyed and loved the car. It would have been perfect if I could keep it as weekend car, but for every day use it got to be too much especially with how low/agressive my alignment/suspension was.

salam kayvan jaan, save up and buy the m5. Dont bother messing around with a 540, its not worth it with the attractive prices m5's are offered at now. The car is also a tank compared to an s2k so make sure its what you want. Also get ready to experience random problems popping up with the car everyday something you probably didnt experience with the s2k.

Welcome. Check out www.bimmerworld.com (http://www.bimmerworld.com) and www.bekkers.com (http://www.bekkers.com) for some goodies. It is addictive so be careful! I just got my M3 a year ago and have no complaints. Its alot of cash to keep them tip top but if you love cars its worth it. Good luck
