This is going to be a (late) christmas gift for a good friend of mine. He isnt very knowledeable about cars but is getting better. I dont him to have to do a lot of work to maintain the filter.

Jerry from Cosmos told me that the bumper didnt have to be removed in order to install the v2 as some other threads have mentioned. Sweet!! But he did say the Xenons would have to be pulled on that side. Ok no biggie if its a one time thing.

Problem is, it would seem that that would mean that the headlight has to be removed everytime you need to clean the filter. This could potentially be a pain.

It seems that majority opinion is that the Cosmos kicks ass and since its soooooo much cheaper then anything else out there, I would really like to get this one.

Opinions and thoughts on this issue please.

Thanks,
Chris

I was thinking about this Intake also but i spoke to a few people and it looks like i am going with the ECIS intake. It a ram air so you dont have to worry about getting to the filter when it needs to be cleaned and it also comes with a heat sheld.....only thing is that its a little more than the Cosomos but I think its going to be worth the money too

Good Luck

Don't ram intakes make for minimal power increases?

I think both net a minimal power increase. Short ram typically less than one routed down near the bumper...yes....due to higher temperatures in the engine bay...usually 20-30 degrees from what ive read.

btw - I just confirmed through jerry that the headlight does need to be removed when you need to remove the filter for cleaning but he also gave a suggested cleaning range of every 25k miles which is a lot more than i thought.
