that is very, VERY nice. power goals in the 900+whp I take it?
sorry but OT: so hey do you own a GTV6? I ask because my first three cars were a '75 Alfetta GT, then an '83 GTV6, then an '86 GTV6, the last of which I sold in 1998. I tried to modify it as much as my money would allow, which back in early 90s as a college student was tough. But with 164 S cams/intake/full exhaust/ECU I was so glad to be able to barely outrun a couple of stock E36 325s when they first came out, as they had the same size engine and were of course much newer of a car, and a BMW. Funny how things change, including power expectations. So then in 1997 I bought an M3 4-door and sold the Alfa.
My dad still has a Milano (75) 3.0L w/ cams/headers, and a sweet '74 Alfa GTV racecar with a fully built motor. He's ditchin' the Milano for an E36 M3 finally, though.

Holy Invisible downpipes!!!!
garrett GT53
Look at the size of that exhaust housing! Whats the hp range of a 53?? its bigger than a 47-88 though right??
It will be interesting to see this one progress. Should be a beast but I dont see the exhaust manifold either?

I have owned a '82 GTV and a '86 sprint. I lost so much money and spent so much time working on those two cars just thinking about it makes me mad. The GTV was almost without rust (fully restored) before i parked it for a year (never park a GTV outside for a year :) ). After that year the car was so full of rust i had to sell it as a part out car, the only parts that could be used was interior (that i had spent 3000 usd on), motor and transmission. I manage to blow the motor on the Sprint, but since most of the budget was used on the GTV (that was sold for nothing almost) i had to sell the Sprint with smoked motor :) . I did almost buy a '86 GTV6 not long ago and was thinking of swapping a BMW V8 3L into it (Alfetta GTV8 replica), but since i hadnt forgot about the quality issues i didnt buy it.

the problem with running that huge turbo is that they run the risk of sucking the passenger side headlight assembly into the inlet.

i shouldve elaborated a bit!! I was meaning also the posts by other ppf forum users like bmw fredde . who has a monster e36 and Im sure had a lot of useful questions for this guy!! I cant find a decent swedish translator? which one did you guys use?
Still cant believe this thread hasnt had more interest though.... :( Disappointing. If the BMW boys want to beat or equal the supras. It starts with a Gt 47-85 if you ask me :D
A GT 53...well thats just plain lunacy.
But I will be very interested to see how much of the car remains if he is to actually make it work. For a top mount manifold as another poster said he will need a minimum of 3.5" - 4" piping I reckon? Meaning that he has zero room for it!! or the exhaust manifold, unless he does a scalectrix track style exhaust manifold that loops round the bay and has a long tube going from the collector to the turbo.
Great find anyway GTV6 :buttrock

It is metal, a structural part of the E36 body. I believe the M3 has the same thing under the plastic skirt...?

Itll also remove the rear lisc plate from the vehicle in front of you if you get too close at a red light.
It will also slowly devour near earth orbit objects and light

You cant. Not and keep the shock tower anyway
Take a look. There is no space for an exhaust manifold or downpipe and it is very tight at the back of the engine..... Unless the engine is vertical mount :) and then space is less tight for ex manifold....tighter intake mani. requiring ppf style or similiar.
GT53 though....wow :eyecrazy

So you are saying it is a joke? We will have to see if they pull it off with some crazy hood. Where will the radiator go?

Nissan sx with S38 turbo :) There is also rumors about a Volvo 240 M70 V12 twinturbo, but no pics has been posted yet.

No no
Not a joke at all.
Its just I cant see, having had an E36 and S38 engine. How the hell they will make it fit without making it no longer a street car :)
That turbo alone must run to what?? $7k maybe? (gt 47 -85 is 4.5k iirc)
Anyone know a supplier for turbo's this big? Even garrett distibutors in the UK dont know what the hell a Gt 47 -85 is :rofl let alone a Gt53
they only do up to GT42R's for some reason.
Custom rad will still fit at the front ok..and IC will be ok too. These engines are same length almost as M3 lump but much wider so I dont think longitudinal space should be too big a problem (I think thats the right word!)
