Maintenance:
Aside from changing the oil with Mobile1 Synth every 5-6k, these are the other maintenance items I have had done since my ownership in July 2005. Almost all work has been done by a reputable shop, or the BMW dealer. Oil changes and tranny fluid I have done myself, for the most part.
All maintenance issues have been addressed on this car except for the Rear Shock Mounts. They are starting to make a little chatter, and may need to be replaced soon. This is a $100 fix, no big deal. Car needs nothing else.
Replaced front wheel speed sensors – @ 80k Miles – Blue Ridge Sports Cars in Baltimore, MD
Brake Fluid Flush – @ 80k Miles – Blue Ridge Sports Cars in Baltimore, MD
UUC Clutch Arm Bushings Installed – @ 80k Miles – Blue Ridge Sports Cars in Baltimore, MD
Replaced Thermostat and flushed coolant – @ 84k Miles – Crown BMW of Greensboro, NC
Transmission Fluid changed with Red Line D4 ATF – @ 85k Miles
Replaced Heater/AC blower fan – @ 92k Miles – Crown BMW of Greensboro, NC
Replaced Secondary Air Pump + SAP Valve + Throttle Position Potentiometer - @ 97k Miles – BMW of Towson
These maintenance items when added up reach close to $3,000. No expense was spared on this car.
Carfax reported Accident:
On August 3, 2000, the original owner was involved in an accident with the car. I spoke with this original owner on the phone before I purchased the car from the 2nd owner. I wanted to find out more regarding the accident. The original owner told me that he was driving in the rain in Columbia, MD near his home when he spun the car coming off of an exit ramp. The car slid into a guardrail damaging the passenger side front fender and the hood. These two parts were the only parts damaged. The only reason this accident shows up on Carfax is due to a police report being filed. The hood was repainted and the fender was replaced with a DOT-R panel. The paint work is flawless; you cannot tell this car has been involved in this accident unless you see the replacement sticker. There is no reason to be scared by this Carfax report, again, the repair work is flawless. I wanted to be upfront and honest regarding this repair. This original owner was a middle aged doctor at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore and used the M3 to commute on the highway back and forth from Ellicott City, MD. All highway miles.

Interior:
The interior is well above average for the age and mileage. The dove vaders are in great condition with only minor wear on the drivers side bolster. These seats look more like 50k mile seats, rather than 100k. Must be seen in person to appreciate.

The Bad
Remember, this car does not have one single door ding. Has minor rock chips in front of car (which is expected). These are the only two imperfections on the exterior.
There are two problem areas on the exterior of the car. These are very minor problems, but I feel that it is best to describe these in detail to potential buyers. The first picture is of an area under the passenger side headlight, on the kidney grill surround. This includes some scuffs from when I was backed into, in a parking lot, the headlight lense needed to be replaced, and I never got around to repainting the grill surround. These scratches are not very noticable.
The other 3 pictures are from another little parking lot incident. Someone pulled out of a parking spot and swiped the rear drivers side quarter panel. This is a small dent with some scuffing and scartching. The area is about 3.5" wide by 3" tall. Since the car is silver, it is very hard to see this dent, and is only noticable in different shades of sunlight. My insurance deductable was changed to $500 right before this dent occured and I felt that the damage is well below $500, so I never fixed it.
