I just got a '96 328 with 117,000 miles and I was thinking of starting by upgrading the front suspension. I'm a complete novice when it comes to suspension so I could use some advice. I'm going to start by replacing the control arms as they are looking a bit tired. What are the advantages of M3 control arms over the stock 328 ones? Can I still upgrade the bushes without changing the control arms?

Control arms, tie rods all bushings will be a great start. New shocks would be kewl too.

How much experience do you have playing with cars? Front end work can be extremely difficult.

Right tools make life easier, :).
Yes, you can replace bushings without replacing whole control arm, just make sure balljoints are good.
Not sure about using M3 control arms as I don't know if it has hole for swaybar link for non m3 swaybar setup.

Speaking of M3 control arm bushings, anyone have a P/N or a good source? I'm looking for some.
