Hi, First post here.

I've been doing a lot of work on my current car and I'm really enjoying it enough that I'm considering getting a project car. Not something to race tune, but something to learn on. When I'm finished I'd like to have a nice daily driver. I have a long commute so something pleasant to drive on the highway would be good.

I don't have a lot of cash to spend up front so I'm looking for something relatively inexpensive. I'm hoping to find something that looks decent but has enough problems that the current owners don't feel like paying to have a mechanic fix it. I can then buy it cheap and tinker to my hearts content.

I had a german built Opel Manta in college and miss owning a german car. I'm thinking of a BMW or Audi at the moment.

Any suggestions?

Find a late 80's'early 90's E30 3 series. Like a 325i and the like. Im sure one can be picked up with problems for well under $1000

That's pretty much what I've been thinking. Thanks for the verification.
