Anyone in Houston can recommand a good place to get BMW's alignment done? Momentum BMW wants $150 for the alignment, I think that's a total rip off. Any suggestions? Thanks!

What's up, man? Remember me? hehe. I'm back in town now, but my car is still up in CT. I saw Chris about a month back when I came into town and he told me about your car. Must be on hell of a car! Here's what I did for my alignment needs. I got the lifetime alignment from Firestone. The trick is to find a firestone with some competent people working there. I had good results from a place in Jersey Village (I used to live there). These guys worked previously with modded cars. But I've taken my car there several times after numerous suspension mods. It only cost me around $135 or so.

It's been a long time, how's everything bro?
Thanks, my car is a little faster than stock M3 now hehehe :D
AA Track Pipe on the way too, sigh....I am so broke because of the car. I bet you know the feeling all too well. :(

Anyhow, I heard firestone got a life time alignment deal for $75 or something? A friend told me that, don't know if that deal is still valid.

Couple of friends and I usually meet up Saturday night at Postoak and Whesthimer, in the parking lot of StarBucks. We can meet up, check out some of my buddies' BMWs.
It's nice to hear from ya again. :)

if you want it setup right go to Bavarian Machine Specialties. They take care of the BMWCCA racers and Auto-xers. They are about the same price as the dealer, but they will do custom alignments which the dealer will not do.

Thanks, I'll give Bavarian a try.
Actually, I lived here for 15 years....never knew about Bavarian Machine Specialist until now.
Do they sell performance products as well?

oops, my bad. it's Bavarian Machine Specialties. They order the usual performance items and the owner is a pretty hardcore bimmerhead. He's mainly into track events.

True, Bavarian Machine will do an awesome job, but they're not exactly cheap. Though they do awesome work and even custom race setups, they'll charge and also keep your car for an eternity. I've heard horror stories from other people about delayed time. As for performance parts, just get from Chris. That might be the cheapest and quickest route for you.

I'd like to maybe hang out with you guys on one of the Saturdays. But I don't have my car...I'll be driving my daily grinder Toyota Camary around. Don't laugh, it's more reliable then the BMW...:stickoutt

It's cool, doesn't matter what car you drive. We just have couple friends meet up and chat anyways.
We ran into a group of 6 supercharged E36 M3s 2 weeks ago.
They are not interested in just meet up for fun and chat....all they wanted was to race us for money. Bunch of weirdos. :nono

SJTrance: what happened to Chris? I used to go to his shop and have him do work for me, but after his falling out with his Dad, then I lost contact with him. Is he still in town? He did an awesome job with my ltw fly and clutch.

Chris is in town, he lost his phone couple weeks back and no one was able to contact him.
But he just did my brakes last Saturday. Painted my calipers red too.

hmm, when I called momentum and asked about a custom alignment, the service person gave me a "no" . Did you ask the tech that was doing it?

I told service advisor and the shop foreman that rode around with me..

"I want max negative camber: -0.8 in the front."

It was noted on the w/o and my bill and the car handles much better. I think they would take any custom setting if they did that for me :dunno

Hey James, its me Ben. Hey, Steve and I need Angel eyes for our cars. And I need to talk to you about the Head Unit (the Sony Mex 5di) because I want that for my car but I can't find it anywhere

MaDoX

Wat up Ben, see you finally joined.

PM Matt Grintsaig aka "Umnitza" or Jim Powell aka "jsp98m3" on the Angel Eyes. They'll definetely be able to help you more on that. :)
As for my Sony MEX-5DI, I got it from Falcon Electronics on Harwin between Gessner and Fondren. $550 vs $999 in Best Buy or Circus City is a steal. Unfortunately my friend that used to work there got another job somewhere else. But they are selling MEX-5DI for around $700, still beats any others in town. :D

I thought the 19" HM2 won't get here until tomorrow?
Bro, I gotta see those rims. Is it chrome or silver, kinda like this one from the previous Uptown park meet?

EuroMuscle

The rims got in early today, I thought they were also going to come in tomorrow but the shipment was early, They're silver not chrome. I don't like the chrome too much, plus they weigh a lot more
