Posted here as this could be the same for all BMW models.
Hi.
I've got a 318i (1994) 5 door and I was last night sandwiched between two cars. The car behind me failed to break and smashed in to me, causing me to hit the car in front. There is no viewable damage to the rear of my BMW, however the bonnet is raised and creased, of which I can't even open to asses the engine damage, if any. The grill panel is also bent/creased, and it looks like the slam panels may have been moved.

THIS IS NOT MY CAR I HAVE YET TO GET A PIC.
Where I have highlighted in red is what I am hoping is the only damage under the bonnet. You can see the red highlight around the right grill, the metal part is bent inwards towards the radiator. Is this replaceable? Does the parts I have highlighted bolt off? Or are they structural elements of the car and can not be replaced (easily). We are under the impression if we are to run through the insurance companies they will not pay out as much as it will cost to fix it, or they might well declare a write off as it is 14 years old!
It's a right !!!!?!? because I had just got a bit of money to get my wheels, tints, bla bla bla...
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Pete
