Just wondering because in the coming week , I am going to be doing pads all around and rotors in front. So any good specials going on right now ? Pads prob need to be changed up front and definelty out back.

If you don't change the rotors in the back, you might wanna get them resurfaced so the new pads can bed in properly.

If you replace/turn the rotors, always replace the pads. You do not have to replace or turn the rotors everytime you do pads, though, only when necessary.
i usually resurface, or replace if necessary, rotors every other pad change
so like said above, if you're replacing the pads, just have a shop resurface the rotors (first measure to see if they're within spec, if not, replace)

you are not supposed to resurface almost any bmw rotors, im pretty sure you cant resurface them on any e36s. light footed drivers could padslap, but if you like to drive your bmw fast, it should be new rotors new pads every brake job.

In the past, I have not been able to get turned rotors to run true when mounted back on the hubs. There are some location problems on the rotor lathes because the rotor lathes do not locate the rotor the exact same way the hub on the car does.
If a shop will let you set the rotors up in their lathe you can usually get them to run true/cut true. The way to do it is to before you take the rotor-off the car put a dial indicator on it and measure the runout. Mark the runout with a felt tip pen in about 4 places (once every 90 degrees).
When you mount the rotor on the lathe, tap it around until you get the same readings on the lathe that you did on the car. Now you are ready to cut the rotors.
As far as using pads over, if you resurface them on a belt sander they will be okay to reuse again. Don't breath the dust.
It cost me about $15 to turn rotors and I have been able to buy new ones for about $25 from BMA auto parts bmaparts.com

Getting rotors resurfaced is pointless. OEM blanks are so cheap its not worth it. As for new pads, a nice set of axxis are around 60 an axle. If you wanted DIRT CHEAP parts you should have bought a kia. Treat the car right.
