Ok, another question from the BMW Noob.... I need a Maine state inspection sticker, and I've got everything on the car done, windows and all the other little problems taken care of - turned out it was bad switches, who woould have thought...
Problem is, my ABS light is on, and no one will sticker it with the light on. The brakes work fine without ABS, and I don't really need ABS, but I do need the light out to get a sticker. I will eventually fix the ABS problem, but in the meantime, is there any way to make the light go out? Without of course taking the dash apart and removing the led bulb for the warning lamp? Any kind of reset available?
I have a 93 325i and I've heard that the relay (gray) is common, but so are the wheel speed sensors. What do you guys think the problem is? The light is always on, from ignition to shutdown, and the abs does not work, which I am sure of after almost hitting a deer and having the brakes lock up tighter than you know what... Any ideas suggestions anything?
Do I have to bite the bullet and take it to the stealership? Only one I know of in Maine is Bill Dodge BMW in Westbrook... Anyone familiar with Maine, maybe Lewiston/Auburn area and know anywhere cheaper or closer? Can't afford 129 bucks every time I get pulled over for no sticker...

You shoulod go to the dealer and find out what the codes mean. You are not obligated to have them fix the issue. It could be a number of things starting with a pedal issue, ABS solenoid wiring, etc. Find out what it is and then decide....

I've never tried it (or spoken to anyone who has), but I've seen a ton of threads on here about reset-tools that can reset the ABS light... Do a quick search and see if the outcome is "acceptable"...

Assuming it's not, you can always just take apart your dash and replace the bulbs... It's really not half as difficult as people make it out to be!
I replaced the bulbs on my car in about two and a half hours (and that included lunch)!
I'm not too good with DIY's, but I know that there are bound to be some posted somewhere on here.. Once again, just run a search.

Hope this helps!
