Like it says.
Base Cooper non-supercharged.
Heated sport seats
factory 5-star alloys
leather wrapped steering wheel.
59k miles
only problem is the hood has the usual chips for a 4 year old car.
5 speed
Chili Red and White Roof
KBB's for 16k but in my area ive never seen a MINI go for anything below 1000 dollars over blue book.
Asking 16k, but will take possible E36 M3 trades, or 318ti plus 6-8k dollars cash.

Gotta love Mini owners delerious thoughts on resale. That base car was like $19K NEW. Why on earth would someone pay $16K for a 5 year old car with 59K miles, and the worst year Mini at that? I'd bet $12K is more like it.

Seconded. I was talking to a Mini owner sometime back about their 02 MY and they thought they could get like 17k for it, 4 years old at the time and the sticker on it was like 20,500.
:rofl

you are absolutly wrong....that is a great price for the car...as long as it is in almost perfect condition..

I gurrantee its not in almost perfect condition...good try though. 5 years old with 59k miles isnt going to be perfect condition. :rolleyes
On the other hand, I dont think I would pay that even for the S version. Nobody wants torque-steer. :(
For that price i'd get an e46 3-series. :D

why is everyone bashing the seller. it will come to him soon that no one is interested in the car and he will be forced to drop the price to sell. until then give him a break.

You must not understand the M3 market - especially with the e36's - most of them are booked at $10k...do they ever go for that in perfect condition...:rolleyes
You cant go to the dealer anymore, or look anywhere and just find one easily - low mile, good condition...your analogy isnt quite accurate.

No its not in perfect condition. The only thing wrong on the whole car is the hood chips, other than that, its perfect. And in SD, its a bargan at 16K, I didn't know how the markets were elsewhere, sorry.

It's not a horrible price. I see '03's going for near 20k all the time. Also notice the OBO that means the price isn't firm 16k but negotiable...give the guy a break.
FlannelHippie- I would suggest posting it on autotrader or in a local newspaper. This can be a very tough crowd....

I know people who are car enthusiasts are often the toughest crowd to sell a car to. I will probabally end up selling her to an older couple for a wifes daily driver. :( She has given me so some 130mph good times and got me only one ticket. Cuts through traffic like you wouldnt believe.

I do know the market especially in So Cal. You are correct they book at $10k but you never see anyone post it for $10k or less. I see posts here for $15k plus
here's one.

nice car but still for sale and above kbb private party. mods barely help in price and kbb doesn't rate that.
http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=656710
2-3k above kbb private party
the original poster never said his was "perfect" either.
nobody pays kbb unless it'a a rare care which neither most MINI's nor E36 fall in.
please find an M3 for under 10k in running condition. even 95s want that much and not in "perfect" condition.
sounds like santa gave you a piece of coal with that attitude of yours. :rolleyes

You completely missed the point...and added more weight to my argument. ;)
e36 M3s are getting rare - way more rare than any random MINI...You can still go to the MINI dealership and buy a brand new mini, or used one, they're everywhere....
You CAN NOT, however, go to a BMW dealership and find an e36 M3 every time...in excellent condition, for $10k (their KBB value).
My point is he said the Mini's never go for under $1000 over Blue Book...Im sorry, but MINI's arent the type of car that brings in more than the BB value...The market is 'flooded' with them, in comparision to the e36's, hence why the e36 M3 DO go for over the KBB value and MINI's dont...
Understand?
BTW, santa isnt..........real. :devillook
However, Christmas went well, and no I dont have an attitude. Cheer up, settle down. Its the holidays...:cool

new MINI's are still selling at sticker price. so even though they're not discontinued they're still a "hot" car whether we agree or disagree.
happy holidays to all.

Go to ebay.com, type in 95-99 M3 search, see 50 examples.
Go to ebay.com, type in Mini Cooper search, see 300 examples.
See my point?
Just wait till the new one comes out, Mini resale will plummet.

When will this stop...I think everyones made their point. :help
MINIs - Not Rare, so they dont sell for over BB value.
E36 M3s - More rare, almost always sell over BB value. :shifty

Well, MINI s obvously hold their value better than other cars, it is the number 2 car for holding value. And I didnt post this to sart an arguement, it was to sell a car.
