Discard all notions of any sort of organized club, I've seen everything from a Skyline, Lexus, to a Camaro show up at the BMW club of Dallas.

Brian I know you hate it when cars other than BMWs come to our meets but they hardly ever park with us and they usually come out to look at the cars and get to know people.

Not sure if you were just joking or were serious about wanting some info so here goes:

Actually there are 2 "clubs" in dallas.

One is organized by members from the various message boards and the other is the Lone Star Chapter of BMWCCA. Both have websites and the LSC also has a list serve much like Suzy's digest only smaller and with local shops and members on it.
Being a bmw cca lsc member can get you some pretty good deals on tires and there are a couple other sponsers.

The message board meets are usually what? 2nd Sat of the month at 3pm at papas and the LSC meets monthly as well (around the 16-17th I think) and also has various tech sessions and the like to go the the Auto-xing season etc etc.

Email me if you want more info - although I haven't had time/been in town to catch any meetings lately.

I plan on showing up so you can check out my DDEs and make your own judgement. IMO, they are hard to notice during the daytime. But they really look nice when it starts getting dark out. Not to mention they look really nice in pictures. :)

Whats up Scho man. Yeah I haven't even been much on the boards in a while. Sooo much going on. I need to try to make a meet soon. I'm out of town again this weekend down to S.A. though.

Never did get the sway tabs welded. I need to order some and also get a set of CG rtb reinforcements as I am prob due to replace mine (pulls under hard accel) with 73k on the clock.

I'll just add it to the list!
Lets see - sitting at the house now:
*UDI crank pulley (only) with belts (a steal at $105 shipped with belts - will prob do until a LTW fly someday when the clutch dies)
*Ron Stygar Short shift kit - will add lead tape to the selector rod at that time as well.
*Painted factory replica rear spoiler - just needs install
*K-Mac camber plates - also lightly used at a good deal

Need to order:
*GC items
*Tranny mount reinforcers
*Front control arms and bushings (think 1 is bent)
*New spacers ...need to measure for the length. My 15mm ones with Kumho MX 245s all around are W-I-D-E and I am hitting the outside of the fender in front. Doh. Even raised the H&R c/os a bit.

I don't think theres ever been a meet I attended that I haven't extended myself and made an effort to talk to everyone. I've invited many people as well, but whats lacking here is some semblance of structure. Like Chunkyd said its the same cars over and over again and half the time the president doesn't even show and even when he does nothing happens, so what the point? Every single person but 1 backed out of the Austin hill country drive. Myself, Lincoln and Chunkyd were the only ones who went. I can't help to think that if we had at least a little bit organization more than 2 cars would have went or even known about it. Not everyone has internet or browses these boards so theres a whole mess of people who go to the meets who simply don't know whats going on.

3. Dallas club or something like that Jo Jo, Sean and Mon and those guys are in it but it seems to be an underground closed society thing.

Lots of track rats in the LSC and if you are mentioning tie in's they have sponser agreements with Autoscope, Lone Star Bav, 911 Enterprises and others. Great tire deals or you can go through the Spring Creek Discount Tire. Another cool thing I saw is come march 1 - 911 Enterprises is opening their lifts to the club members for the day to do maint items. Sweet.

Anyway - just chiming in. Check out the website. Also be interesting to post all tie in of all groups to help everyone out.

dallasbboy, to be fair to those that did not go (myself being one of them), the weather really sucked that day (rain/fog). I'm not saying that it wouldn't have been fun, but it would have been pretty miserable and stressful for me.

In any case, the Lone Star Chapter is your best bet if you want to get into actually racing your car. If you really want to, you can attend close to 30 events in the course of a year between the BMW/Porsche clubs and the SCCA.

The meet was cool, although I was freezing my ass off. It was the biggest showing of BMWs that I've personally seen yet. It was very impressive and cool to see all those E36s all lined up. :)

So I guess the group didn't go do anything afterwards huh? I know Austin was talking about doing the meets at the indoor karting place. That might be a good idea so we could get groups of people to participate in kart races after checking out each other's cars. I personally like to participate in activities more than standing around shooting the shit.

Chris & Brian hate the BMW club of Dallas because they dont have any control over it. They bitch that people stand around holding their dicks is all that goes on. Chris & Brian also are at these same meets not talking to anyone holding their dicks. Chris & Brian hav'nt made an effort to contribute to the BMW Club of Dallas. We talked about this awhile back lots of talking nothing more than that. Chris & Brian can continue to bitch about the club and continue to show up since thats all they do. They both just went on a drive to Austin but also bitch nothing ever happens. Yes the event was not a BMW Club of Dallas event but it was a BMW event. We also attend many LSC events also LSC members attend our events. Its a community a joint effort rather than a few that stand back and bitch about everything. Basically Brian & Chris wont be happy till we have a dictatorship telling everyone what todo. LSC does'n even work that way. We tired weekly meets but that did work out due to weather and the place did'n really want us around anymore. We tired having kart racing but nobody showed up. We tried going to speedworks but a handful showed up. In about 1 and ahalf months we'll be having a BMW Club of Dallas dinner. I'm thinking Red Hot and Blues on a Saturday starting around 6pm.

BMW Club of Dallas also worked on some videos to produce. The club is active and has plenty of things todo and pass's information along for other events of other clubs its only if the members decide to be active. The last meet 1-11-03 had a good turn out with mostly e36.

BMW Club of Dallas meets have be bitched about because Brian & Chris say we stand around holding our dicks. The Dallas crew had a mini meet not to long ago and the same guys who complain about BMW Club of Dallas said the mini meet was nothing but rich young guys standing around not talking to each other. So what I see is guys tring to get together and have fun but a few will complain no matter what group or what happens. These guys will continue to bitch no matter what happens. I dont remember seeing Chris or Brian at the Dyno either. I was undable to attend the Austin drive an other recent events due to my car is taken apart.

I will plan a dyno meet in March by myself. I will plan an organize the BMW Club of Dallas dinner which should be 3rd weekend in Fed. I'll make everyone aware of the DE's and Autox's that are upcoming in the next race season. I will work with Chris on the video we produced to make sure it gets out. Asian Mike and myself helped alot on the video with production. We helped produce the video but you will only know we worked on the video if you look at the bottom of the screen you'll see our names small and "contributing ideas" Chris took all the credit for the project. I drained my battery shooting the night shot and had to pay about $70 for a new battery. But I did not complain till I saw they brought up old news about the club things that have been talked about before.

I wont be doing much of anything till I get my car fixed. Since I showed up to the meet in a camero I guess I insulted Brian. I apologize for using other means of transpotaion to get to my BMW meets. Brian gets insulted by anyone who would show up to the BMW meets in something other than BMW's even thou these other people love the cars and may be trying to buy one. Brian has told people to leave if they dont own a BMW. This is not an image I want for the club. If I had to pick between the other guys who show up in camero's that love BMW's and Brian I would pick the camero's and ask Brian to never show up again. I wont allow someone to run off other people. These Lexus and camero's he speaks of showed up once or twice and they dont attend any events only the meets. If you dont like what is going on with the club please leave and start your own. Join LSC or the Dallas crew. You already bitched about the Dallas crew for being rich guys that rice out their cars so your stuck with LSC.

The Kart racing deal has already been worked out I emailed everyone months ago and only a handfull was interested I need more than that. Deposit is $100.

Next friday night everyone should just show up around 7pm. It'll be a test. I'm gonna work on getting a banner made along with buying a BMW flag to have for the meets. I'll get the flag off ebay.

We will be cooking hamburgesas and hot dogs, along with plenty of cold beer. I have not told anyone but Chris and Sean about these ideas yet until now. I am also trying to work out a Hooters BMW meet/car wash. I have the hook up at Hooters...holla if ya hear me. Sean and Chris can vouch for that. It seems not much has been happening and meets were thinning out, so I was trying to plan this stuff now and wait until it was warmer.

I am in NO WAY trying to take control of any club, but however, enjoy working on BMW's and hanging out with others with similar interests.

Thats not taking over the club thats contributing. Thats what its suppose to be not a single person running the show. If you look at LSC they have many guys helping and a committee. I tried awhile back to get a committee for this club maybe we should try again. Put certian people in charge of certian things. Stuff will happen quicker.

The people saying they will show up and not is normal we will have to plan on that and put events together anyways.

I'll work on the Dinner and Kart racing ...again. Your house will be good for tech day since you have huge front street. Perhaps Tech day followed by BMW keg nights. Dyno needs to be spring time so its cool enuf to get good readings but not to cold to freeze since its pretty much outdoors.

I will plan a dyno meet in March by myself. I will plan an organize the BMW Club of Dallas dinner which should be 3rd weekend in Fed. I'll make everyone aware of the DE's and Autox's that are upcoming in the next race season. I will work with Chris on the video we produced to make sure it gets out. Asian Mike and myself helped alot on the video with production. We helped produce the video but you will only know we worked on the video if you look at the bottom of the screen you'll see our names small and "contributing ideas" Chris took all the credit for the project. I drained my battery shooting the night shot and had to pay about $70 for a new battery. But I did not complain till I saw they brought up old news about the club things that have been talked about before.

I wont be doing much of anything till I get my car fixed. Since I showed up to the meet in a camero I guess I insulted Brian. I apologize for using other means of transpotaion to get to my BMW meets. Brian gets insulted by anyone who would show up to the BMW meets in something other than BMW's even thou these other people love the cars and may be trying to buy one. Brian has told people to leave if they dont own a BMW. This is not an image I want for the club. If I had to pick between the other guys who show up in camero's that love BMW's and Brian I would pick the camero's and ask Brian to never show up again. I wont allow someone to run off other people. These Lexus and camero's he speaks of showed up once or twice and they dont attend any events only the meets. If you dont like what is going on with the club please leave and start your own. Join LSC or the Dallas crew. You already bitched about the Dallas crew for being rich guys that rice out their cars so your stuck with LSC.

The Kart racing deal has already been worked out I emailed everyone months ago and only a handfull was interested I need more than that. Deposit is $100.

Next friday night everyone should just show up around 7pm. It'll be a test. I'm gonna work on getting a banner made along with buying a BMW flag to have for the meets. I'll get the flag off ebay.

you seem to have a problem coming up with better adjectives to express yourself. Here are a few that more accurately convey what is truth.

This has been an ongoing issue and we had a formal meeting about this already and everything I speak of on bimmerforums I have told you to your face. I only wish you were as frank as Chris and myself.

The reason (in case you wondered) why I don't like seeing non BMW cars show up repeatedly to our meets is because its a BMW club correct? I know organization is a new concept to you but sooner or later it will be evident that groups without organiztion is like a car without steering (useless).

In past 5 months I have only gone to one strip club. We have never had any BMW events at strip clubs. Pappas BBQ I dont drink and at the dyno I did'n drink nor any BMW event I can think of. So that takes care of the strip club and drinking problem.

I dunno what kind of club ?? Certianly not ours considering we have never meet at a strip club before. Abunch of members use to hang out there including yourself so we pretty much called those mini meets. I knew strip clubs were not the place for everyone so I moved it to sonic. Asian mike you and myself agreed we did not want to use Brian's friend. Asian mike let us use his apartment to video and his apartment as a meeting place. Asian mike also did some camera work from inside the M3 since you took all the credit for the video and told everyone you shot the whole thing. We all did the story board together in your house. I thought asian mike helped you edit the video you even said so ?? So asian mike and myself helped produce this video but you dont like giving credit. I had you shoot the head lights aiming themself on the ground. All you see is all the work you did and everyone was in your way. It took all of us to make that video it was a group effort and we did pretty damn good for short period of time. I'm happy my gf filled in at the last minute.

Second of all, the only times Austin has been to a strip club were NOT associated in any way with BMW. It just happened to be BMW guys who went. He never went to a meet and announced, "Hey, guys, next meet is at Tities R Us!" And I know for a fact that he was NOT trying to pick up girls because he always came home to me. So don't even try going there. And if you seem to have such a problem with a few guys who are supposed to be friends and just happen to all drive BMW's going to a strip club together to have a few drinks and maybe a lap dance, then why did you go?

For everyones information I found a girl for the BMW shoot since confirmation was not communicated until the last minute Saturday morning. I brought her to the Friday night meet at Sonic. Her name was Christine and she drove a red 328 sedan. Anyway she was willing to work with us and even sat down with us at Wendys to talk about the shoot but Chris told me Saturday morning not to bring her since Austin was going to come through.

A phone call to me from Austin letting me know ahead of time would have been beneficial.

I never claimed to be "so intelligent" but one thing I am is courteous and polite. Everyone I meet I greet with a handshake and eye contact. Believe it or not this kind of basic social behavior goes a long way when dealing with people.

Everyone has their reasons for not showing up to things but when people don't communicate its just rude. Me and Chris were waiting for a while up there at Whataburger on the Austin Hill drive, a post the night before on here would have saved us some time.

Its hard to deal with people that can't understand the benefit of constructive criticism and even harder to those who hide in the shadows and don't speak their mind. I am quick to point out areas that need change in the club but equally fast and willing to contribute towards a solution. I suggested/contributed a few things that have been small steps towards improvment (e.g. Online Calendar of events, sumbitting lots of my photos to Mike after each meet or event).

I would like to see this club become more official and more lucid in the way it operates. I got nothing but time on my hands so let me know what needs to be done and I'll be happy to help out.

One thing you don't know about me is that I will admit when I am wrong, and I apologize for including you in the part about talking bad about me. However, here you made it seem like I am rude through your comment about social behavior. I understand perfectly what you mean about greeting someone in a friendly manner...I worked as a waitress throughout high school and part of my early college. Not to mention all the leadership positions I have held in school and in my community...you have no choice but to learn all those things early when you have people watching you constantly. As far as constructive criticism, Austin understands that, which is why he has asked me to start helping him with some of the correspondence area of the club. You must also admit that setting everything up to satisfy everyone in the club is a lot of work for one person to do. However, from what I understand you do the grammar bit a lot. Some people get insulted by it, that's all. According to the context of the discussion that was taking place, I can see why Austin would see your comments as being meant to belittle him. I'm sure you can too if you think about it. And as I said before, Austin's tires had been bald long before the drive, and his DME truly was going bad. The reason he said at first that he was going to try to go was that he was going to try to take his dad's car. Unfortunately, he couldn't because his dad needed it. But he still let everyone know a couple days ahead of time. As far as the part with the other girl, I imagine Austin thought Chris would tell you what was happening since you two seem to be allies. I'm not going to get involved in this but I really hope you guys settle everything out because I just saw everyone Saturday and everything seemed fine to me, I'd hate to see everyone split up and go seperate ways. You know also we used any good idea's ya'll had like the calendar. Things where going good when we came up with stuff but ya'll time from time resort to name calling and getting personal. I dunno whats wrong with Chris everyone was there for the video shoot and saw the amount of work we all did. You even saw asian Mike do some camera work along with all the other work we did. He did'n even add the girl in the credits. He left people out and changed it around you know thats not business like.

Calling some shots and setting up the lighting is not grip work anyone that has done film work knows that.

Chris will say negative comments towards someone and when they reply back his responce is "shut the hell up". Brian does this sound good to you ?

Most people who consider themselves part of this club simply don't even get involved and don't make their opinions known so it seems like its all me and Chris right now but trust me our view is not isolated. Fortunatley there are people in this world who express their opinions publically in hopes of change for the better in the future otherwise nothing would improve.

Chris is the first man to step up and put his name and money on the line, without him and all of his equipment the entire shoot would have not existed. I contributed very little technically to this project as did everyone else excluding Chris but out of sheer kindness everyone will be included.

So I bought a new $70 battery for the hell of it cuz my car would'n start the next moring ?? It would not start on the parking garage either I had to turn off everything and let it sit for awhile before it ran. It did'n have enuf power to run anything my headlights were dim and barely lit. I even asked people while on the parking garage for jumper cables cuz we were about to jump it. I still have the paper work on the new battery I'll scan it an post so you can apologize for saying I lied. After the shoot I drove straight to the steak house then I drove home. I only turned my car off once at the steak house. So point out more lies for me to show the truth about. Already proved your battery lie to be false.

You brought the girl into the production and automatically made her the #1 person and acted like we had to inform her off the details. Chris did'n like that he felt like you were trying to run the show and did not want the girl around and only wanted to talk between the 4 of us. So we waited till you and her walked off and the 3 of us talked about it and voted not to use her. Chris was the one who did not want her around for the meeting. I only did the voting not to use her then I left soon after that. So no it was not a fair vote but basically it was 3 to 1.

So you see the problem about the video then ? If you did very little tech work much like me and mike then why was your name in big letters above mike and myself and tiffany was left out ?? Because you and chris always hang out so you two are in together and he excluded us. Unprofessional.

Bring up the details on anymore lies people believe I am saying and I will help explain the situation so everyone understand and no more confusion. About the battery have you never started a car when the battery was dying and it barely turns over and lights and other electrical things barely work ?? I thought all this crap was settled a while back. Guess I was wrong. But if everyone want to beat this dead horse some more go right ahead.

No one can be happy about everything, there will always be someone bitching about something. Everyone bitches about something....just human nature.

Anyway, just how active do you really really want this club to be? Does every single one of you out there have the time to REALLY make this club that active? We can schedule stuff all we want but what it really comes down to is if people have the time or not. I know I don't have the time necessary to sit around and plan out events every day. I have a job. So does everyone else. This is an organization where we come together to hang out and have fun when time allows. So unless someone can spend 100% of their time on this and make this club active, I don't see this club being any more active than it is right now.

As for the video....well, Chris did do 99% of the shooting. Why? Cause it IS his equipment and he knows about that stuff. It might appear that he did most of the work and no one else helped. Well, again, that is because it IS his equipment. We were there to make suggestions about what might work and what might not. And there were a lot of suggestions made that day.

The editing...well, I didn't know it was done until it was done. I thought there were problems loading the video onto the computer. The next thing I knew, Chris had a rough cut done. We couldn't do much since it was already done.

Anyway, all this trash talk is just beating the dead horse even more.
