Here's some pictures to start off. Let me know if the joints look ok and what you think. I will have more info later, but I am in a rush.

Wow, I didnt look at the pictures before and now I realize they arent the best. Sorry about that guys, hopefully you can make somewhat of a conclusion with the shots of the welds.

Some of those welds look like a lawsuit waiting to happen! But other than that the units look pretty cool and solid. Let us know how they ride...

Looks like someone welded those with their ass. Ebay coilovers I presume?

no way those are e36 coilovers...just look at the rear shocks...those are definitely NOT for an e36.

I would stay away personally. I would be scared to put any stress on those welds in a turn!?

are these for E36?

The front struts definitely are not E36. The bottom strut to spindle brackets are missing. The upper bracket has 2 mounts whereas the E36 only has one.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say those were Mustang strut housings... look just like the Fox 3 / SN95 housings.

The pictures I posted are c/o for some jdm car. I was just taking pictures of what the kits quality and make will look like once they come out for e36.

I did not find them from ebay.

Other than the welds, is there any real way to judge these coilovers without act ually mounting them up? Anything someone should know?

While the welds are bad, it wouldn't be a big deal to simply re-weld, I don't think.

Otherwise, I'm not sure how you can test the quality by appearance.

Thats true, but it doesn't make me feel good when I have to fix the manufacturers mistakes before I put them on my car.

Maybe I can find someone with the kit installed and go for a ride.

Thanks for the replies.

If they skimped on the welds, I would assume they skimped on the internals as well.

True, I would bet they skimped even more on the internals then the welds. No one can see the internals. Do they have shock dyno printouts?

But the suspension fluid and seals are imported so all must be good. :)

for the price of the kit you could find a used proven kit for a couple hundred more

i would do that for ease of mind.
