Anyone know if there is anyway I can swap a s50b32 in a us e36 and still pass CALI smog. Any info would be great. Thanx

Put it in a pre 96 chassis and use cats, warm it up thoroughly before the sniffer test.

That's the euro motor right? I'd like to know if many people have passed as well.

I'll be trying to pass a ls1 in a bmw next year in cali:help haha

hopefully I'll still be able to register it for pa.

Will not pass visual.

And also as long as the ls1 motor is newer than the vehicle it was placed in then it will pass.

Will not pass OBD-II inspection regardless if the smog tech knows what it is/is not.

Come up to LA. This one place I know of is kind of expensive (around 200-300) for a smog check but I don't know of a car that doesn't pass. Taking your car there is kind of like going to a chinese "massage" parlor...make sure you ask for the "happy ending" ;)
