View Full Version : Bent Rims
I have a 98 M3 - got the LTW light weights- my front_driver side wheel is bent and its annoying the shit out of me between 65-75 I hate the vibration and handling its just Not there anymore- i do not feel comfortable around turns especially!
I was thinking of getting it fixed - should I buy a used one from someone or just get them replaced...? how much do they usually cost?
Any place thats recommended? Anyone got their rims fixed?

I have Rial Imolas on my car. They are mainly sold in Europe and hard to find in the US. And they went out of production a few years ago. I used to have 4 + the spare. In an off track incident at Thunderhill I destroyed a front rim and bent the rear. Pics here if your interested http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=297807
My options were either a full new set of rims or repair. I found a local shop and they charged somewhere in the $100 -$150 range (can't remember exactly).
I just called the shop that I usually use for mount & balance and they recommended the place. Might not be too many though... there is only one shop that does rim repair in all of the greater Sacramento area.

Stupid question... do you have an LTW spare that you could rotate in?
Oh, and this place is supposed to be one of the best repair places in the country. http://www.wheelcollision.com/

www.rimpro.com. I was just at the Tewksbury location today. I can't say enough good things about these guys. $100/wheel. Guess you'd have to pay for shipping though.
Since you are in the MD/DC/VA area, one that is highly recommended is Ye Olde Wheel Shop in Elkridge, MD. They advertise in the local MBCA newsletter and I've gotten a quote from them of $100/wheel for a straighten and stock refinish on DS1's. I have not used them but they come highly recommended by a number of folks I know in the PCA and MBCA.
Ye Olde Wheel Shop, 6363 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, MD 21075, (800) 526-8260, (410) 796-8400

wheel collision butchered a set of my wheels. I'll NEVER go back to them nor would I ever recommend them.
