Any real difference between the 2 types of M3 10-spoke wheels (other than looks)? I think that one came on '95's and the other on '96-'99's, if I'm not mistaken. I'll likely get new wheels with my next round of tires and like the older 10-spoke look, but maybe they're inferior in some way. Maybe not, though.
Thanks.

different size, i think the ds1 are all 7.5, and you can get the ds2 staggered

Corey - the 7 1/2x17s with the 'Motorsport' Logo were on the 95 models as the standard wheel this year only. I just borrowed a set for my 95 M3 while I was waiting for a new set of tires. They were on a 95 M3 that came to the BMW Recycler where I work. All the 95s I have seen so far have had just the 7 1/2 size Motorsport Logo wheels on all four corner. The staggered 7 1/2x17s and 8 1/2x 17s came on the later M3s with either the ten spoke or contour styles. I sold the Motorsport wheels to a customer in the Bay Area and weighed them before I signed them off to be shipped. On our Fed Ex scale in our shipping department, they weighed in at 23 pounds. I found an 8 1/2 width in our inventory and it weighed in at almost 24 lbs. I weighed the staggered contours I have on my M3 before I put new skins on them and the 7 1/2s weighed 22 pounds and the 8 1/2s weighed 23 pounds. Both the Advan Neovas I took off the staggered contours and the ES100s I now have, would push in the dry when driven hard; but the 7 1/2 width in all four corners seemed a little more neutral in the dry. Whichever style factory rim you might choose, be aware they bend easily. I have munched two wheels. The piece of steel across the road was about two inches thick and the pinhead workers did not get enough asphalt along the leading edge to allow "rubber band" tires to roll over them without bending wheels. It was dark and I was doing about 40 and the SUV in front of did not give me a clear look at the steel in time to slow down. I hit the steel at about 25 and still bent one front wheel. The other I bent when nailed a hole in the pavement, again in the dark at about 30. That was a rear wheel. Luckily, I work for a place I can get wheels whenever I mess one up!!!
Hope this helps you out.
