so i'm installing an alarm/remote start. all i have hooked up as of now are the basics. the main harness going to my constant +12v, ground, acc, ign, and starter. then i have a wire going to the hood switch, the brake switch, the e-brake switch, and the "signal wire" is wrapped around the coil wire about 15ish times (per the manual. it acts as a pulse sensor...like a timing light). THATS IS ALL THATS HOOKED UP!!!
now my car wont start. it cranks but there's no spark. idk if i blew a fuse or relay or what. while attempting to troubleshoot it i think i left the ignition on too long because i head this "pop. ffffizzzzzzz" look up to see smoke and saw that my ignition coil has exploded. so i thought well maybe the coil was bad since it ended up blowing anyway. so i replaced it with the coil off the e32 but it still wont start.
anyone know where to start looking? it seems like there's some relay or fuse holding keeping it from sparking....but where?
