Saw afew stock times. Just wondering if anyone took their modded ones to the track yet.
The 60-70whp has to "liven" things up a bit.

If it can pull 13.4's stock, high 12's would be likely with a good driver and a chip. The lack of an LSD will prove to be a problem once people start extracting insane power from these cars.

I honestly don't forsee this being a problem. Look at the sick 60' the C32 has done with out lsd.
I am guessing mid 12's@110-112.

When you guys talk about the track...you mean the 1/4 mile? I thought you meant a complete track...
Why is it no one in the US takes their cars to regular road tracks?

1/4mi.
Plenty of Americans do. I am just not one of them.
It's alot more abuse on the car and more expensive. And we care about speed.
Drag racing puts the best moments of a race all in the last remaining seconds.

The answer to this is both cost and availability. Many people don't live at all close to a decent road course. Even if you do, those courses have limited hours and only allow small groups of drivers on them. Additionally, many of the road courses require that you take one of their performance driving classes before you are authorized to drive on the course.
On top of that, there is a relatively high cost. It costs a fair chunk of money to get on to a course here. When you add to that the cost of taking the performance driving course and the additional cost of tires and brakes that come with tracking a car a number of people just don't participate.
It's much easier to find 1/4 mile tracks and driving on those is usally pretty inexpensive and requires little to no experience. Tires are still and issue, but brakes don't undergo excessive wear. Since many people want to race their car and safely push it beyond 90mph without a big cost, many US residents just hit the 1/4 mile track.
Also note that 1/4 mile racing is a huge tradition here in the states.

I've done, and enjoy, both. But other than cost of the event and some tire/brake wear (no small issue, I agree), here are the options:
1/4mile: 13-15 seconds of fun followed by 1.5-2 hours of waiting.
HPDE: 25-30 minutes of fun followed by 1 - 1.5 hours of waiting.
After 4 or 5 sessions of HPDE, you WILL be exhausted - but in a good way.
There are several clubs near me that manage events at Sears Point (Infineon), Thunderhill, Laguna Seca, etc. Sears is the most expensive at $300+, but most of the other venues are less than $250 (esp outside of Calif). And many clubs have no membership fees - only a small fee (~$40) for a novice to get instruction. No other training required in many cases.
I highly recommend to anyone that if you get the opportunity to do a road course event, take it. Just once. I'll bet 95% of you will do it again - it's THAT much fun!
